Programme Overview The Early Careers Programme (ECP) offers a unique opportunity for emerging professionals to gain practical experience at the heart of the world’s leading multistakeholder organization. Designed for recent graduates and individuals with up to three years of cumulative professional experience (including internships), the programme provides hands-on exposure to the Forum’s mission and global initiatives. Participants will contribute to meaningful projects, collaborate with experts and thought leaders, and develop the skills, networks, and perspectives to accelerate their careers in the global public-interest space. Programme Details Duration and Employment Terms Contract Type: Full-time, on-site employment Duration: 6 months Locations: Geneva, Beijing, Mumbai, or Tokyo Work Authorization: The Forum can provide work authorization support only for Geneva-based roles Compensation Geneva: CHF 4,500 per month (salary and medical allowance) Beijing: CNY 12,500 per month Mumbai: INR 91,666 per month Tokyo: JPY 333,333 per month Functional and Thematic Areas Participants will be placed in one of several core areas based on their skills, interests, and the Forum’s strategic needs. Each participant will collaborate with experienced professionals and contribute to live projects aligned with global priorities. 1. Thematic / Content Areas Applicants can select one primary content area of interest from the following: Advanced Manufacturing and Supply Chains – Exploring innovation and resilience in global production systems. AI, Frontier Technologies, and Digital Innovation – Supporting responsible AI and digital transformation. Economic Growth, Equity, and Inclusion / Human Capital and Skills – Advancing equitable growth and future-ready talent ecosystems. Energy and Materials – Driving sustainable and secure energy transitions. Financial and Monetary Systems – Fostering inclusive and stable global financial architectures. Regional Agenda, Trade, and Geopolitics – Strengthening international cooperation and regional development. Health and Healthcare – Accelerating access, innovation, and system resilience in global health. Sustainability, Nature, and Climate – Supporting environmental stewardship and climate action. Urban Transformation – Shaping sustainable and inclusive cities for the future. Within these thematic areas, participants may contribute to one of the following functions: Stakeholder Engagement: Building and maintaining relationships with strategic partners and external stakeholders. Project, Content, and Policy Management: Conducting research, managing initiatives, and developing thought leadership materials. 2. Technical and Operational Areas Alternatively, participants may focus on enabling functions that underpin the Forum’s operations and impact: Data and Analytics: Collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to inform strategic decision-making and research outputs. Technology Innovation and Digital Success: Supporting the Forum’s digital transformation and global collaboration tools. Business Development and Key Account Management: Managing partner relationships and identifying growth opportunities. Event Management and Global Programming: Coordinating logistics and operations for flagship events and summits. Finance, Procurement, Legal, and Compliance: Supporting governance, budgeting, and operational excellence. Hospitality and Facility Management: Ensuring smooth operations and excellent participant experience. Marketing, Communications, and Media Relations: Amplifying the Forum’s mission through storytelling and outreach. People & Culture: Strengthening organizational culture, learning, and inclusion. Skills and Competencies Developed Throughout the programme, participants will build a diverse skill set and gain exposure to complex, multi-stakeholder environments. Key competencies include: Sense of Mission: Deep understanding of the Forum’s mission and commitment to improving the state of the world. Collaboration and Relationship Management: Ability to work across diverse teams and build meaningful partnerships. Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey ideas effectively. Problem-Solving: Analytical thinking to evaluate information, identify patterns, and develop actionable insights. Adaptability and Resilience: Comfort with change, flexibility in fast-paced environments, and openness to innovation. Video Interview – Shortlisted candidates complete an asynchronous video interview to share insights and experiences. Hiring Manager Interview – Selected candidates meet with the relevant team manager and a team member. Personality Questionnaire – Candidates complete an assessment to better understand work preferences and fit. Talent Acquisition Interview – A final discussion with the Forum’s recruitment team.
