Hello, My name is Gbakaan Vanen Peter. I’m a passionate student of Development Studies at the National Open University of Nigeria. I began my journey in 2021, driven by a desire to build a career that allows me to contribute meaningfully to society especially to underprivileged communities. Before enrolling at the university, I earned a Diploma in Accountancy from the Polytechnic and worked in various capacities, primarily in the development sector. Despite having valuable hands-on experience, I found that the lack of a formal degree affected my opportunities for growth. This inspired me to return to school. I enrolled in the BSc Development Studies program, but sadly, I had to pause my studies at the 200-level due to the sudden termination of my job contract. I used my final pay in 2023 to cover my tuition for one more semester, but it wasn’t enough to keep going. Since then, I’ve relocated FROM Benue to Nasarawa State, where I now teach at a primary school. I love contributing in my own small way through education, but my salary only covers my basic needs and it’s not enough to pay for my tuition. That’s why I’m reaching out. I’m raising funds to resume and complete my education so I can fully pursue my passion: working in the development sector, creating sustainable solutions, and uplifting the lives of the less privileged. I believe that with the right support, I can return to school, graduate, and be a stronger force for good in Nigeria and beyond. I am only raising for my 2nd semester of second year at the moment and the amount of my school fees is 66,750.
