Programme Structure The programme combines highly interactive learning activities with personalised professional development. Training sessions will focus on leadership, mentoring, proposal writing and communication skills, complemented by one-on-one coaching. The practical nature of the programme is intended to ensure that participants can apply the knowledge and skills gained to their existing professional environments. Participants will have opportunities to reflect on their leadership strengths, identify areas requiring further development and establish strategies for achieving their career objectives. Mentoring and coaching components are also intended to provide guidance as participants navigate professional challenges and pursue increased leadership responsibility. Eligibility Requirements The 2026 programme is aimed at high-potential African women who have established professional experience in science and agriculture. Applicants must meet the following requirements: Be a woman under 35 years of age. Have at least five years of full-time professional experience in the science and agriculture sector. Hold a minimum of a B.Sc. degree or equivalent qualification in an agricultural science discipline from a recognised university. Currently reside in Africa. Be actively engaged in agriculture-related professional work. Demonstrate a strong commitment to personal and professional growth. Clearly articulate their career goals and aspirations. Demonstrate potential and willingness to take on leadership responsibilities. Not currently be a Fellow or Laureate of another fellowship programme offered by AWARD.
