About the Google Creative Fellowship The Google Creative Fellowship 2026 is a six-month program designed to immerse emerging creative talent in real-world projects across Google’s in-house creative teams. The program emphasizes hands-on experience, mentorship, and exposure to cross-functional creative workflows. It aims to cultivate a network of innovative professionals who approach challenges with curiosity, a “maker-first” mindset, and a strong focus on experimentation. The Fellowship is intended for new professionals—those who have graduated or will graduate before the start of the program—and offers opportunities to learn, collaborate, and contribute to meaningful projects that impact global audiences. Program Overview The Creative Fellowship places participants on dedicated creative teams at Google. Fellows gain: Exposure to multiple creative departments, including Brand Studio, Creative Lab, Google Cloud Brand & Creative, and YouTube Creative Studio Opportunities to work on real projects, guided by experienced mentors The ability to develop a professional network with peers and senior creatives A platform to experiment with AI, motion design, digital storytelling, and emerging technologies Each Fellow’s experience may vary depending on the team, but all participants engage in projects that require creativity, technical skill, and collaborative problem-solving. Fellowship Teams and Roles The program offers a variety of roles across four main teams: Brand Studio – New York, NY / San Francisco, CA / Los Angeles, CA Focuses on storytelling, advertising, and interactive experiences to strengthen the Google brand. Roles include: Motion Designer – Combines motion, 3D, and traditional animation for projects like Google Doodles; experiments with AI tools Producer – Manages project workflows, ensuring creative concepts are executed efficiently Social Creative/Copywriter – Crafts compelling content for social campaigns and brand initiatives Creative Technologist – Bridges creative and technical work, prototyping innovative design solutions Creative Lab – New York, NY Explores experimental and technical creativity to communicate Google’s innovations. Roles include: Creative Technical Motion Artist – Merges coding and design to produce advanced animation and interactive visuals Visual & Motion Designer – Develops motion graphics and visual storytelling pieces using emerging tools Google Cloud Brand & Creative – San Francisco, CA Simplifies complex enterprise concepts through creative communication. Roles include: Creative Technologist – Prototypes new ideas using front-end, back-end, and AI technologies Social Creative – Designs campaigns and content for Google Cloud’s audience Visual & Motion Designer – Creates animated and visual assets to enhance the brand experience YouTube Creative Studio – New York, NY Focuses on content that engages global audiences across YouTube platforms. Roles include: Video Storyteller (AI Focus) – Produces videos integrating narrative, AI tools, and experimental techniques Writer/AI Prompt Artist – Develops AI-driven content strategies and creative prompts for video production Eligibility and Requirements Applicants must meet the following criteria: Be located in the United States and possess work authorization (no visa or sponsorship required) Be of legal working age in the United States as of June 2026 Have fluent English skills (written and spoken) Commit to a full-time, six-month program (mid-June 2026 to mid-December 2026) Be a new professional with five years or less of work experience Reside in the city associated with the role Google also provides accommodations for applicants with disabilities or special needs, which can be arranged via email prior to program participation. Application Process Interested candidates are required to submit: Personal information, including name, email, and pronouns (optional) Selection of up to two creative roles Short essays describing their creative path and original work Links to portfolios, work samples, or AI-created digital artifacts Resume, LinkedIn profile, and optional social media links Applicants confirm eligibility and agree to Google’s terms, privacy policy, and third-party staffing processes before submission. The application deadline is March 23, 2026.
