The Possibilities in Tech Scholarship is a four-year, multi-dimensional program designed to support students with big dreams in technology. Created to help future tech leaders thrive, the program combines financial support, mentorship, community building, and career readiness to guide scholars from high school graduation through college and into technology careers—all while encouraging students to dream boldly, stay resilient, and enjoy the journey. About the Scholarship The scholarship is built around the belief that talent grows best with guidance, access, and community. Scholars are supported through four core pillars of persistence that shape both their college experience and long-term career success: sense of belonging, self-advocacy and help-seeking, readiness for a career in technology, and financial independence. Through these pillars, students gain the confidence, skills, and networks needed to navigate college and enter the tech workforce. As emphasized by LinkedIn leadership, early guidance can make a lasting difference. The program aims to equip students with the resources, mentorship, and exposure necessary to jumpstart careers in software engineering and related technology fields. Deadline: 11 March 2026 Scholarship Benefits and Support Recipients engage in four years of structured programming and receive up to $40,000 in total scholarship funding, distributed as $10,000 annually. In addition to financial assistance, scholars gain access to a wide range of professional and academic opportunities designed to enhance long-term success.Key benefits include:• Up to $40,000 in scholarship funds over four years• Mentorship from LinkedIn engineers• College navigation support and supplemental learning• Opportunities to attend hackathons and tech conferences• Exposure to diverse career pathways in technology• A company-provided laptop• Access to LinkedIn Learning resources Eligibility Criteria The Possibilities in Tech Scholarship is open to high school seniors who plan to pursue a technology-focused degree in the United States. Selection is based on demonstrated passion and skill in technology, as well as financial need measured by the FAFSA Student Aid Index. Applicants are encouraged to apply if they meet the following criteria: Have not yet started a full-time college program Plan to enroll full-time at a nonprofit, accredited U.S. college or university starting Fall 2026 Intend to pursue a degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming, or a related field Aspire to work in software engineering or related roles such as AI or machine learning Are excited to travel for experiential learning opportunities one to two times per year Are committed to community building, career development, and supporting future tech students The program is open to all applicants, and selection decisions are not based on race, gender, or any other protected class. Program Requirements and Structure Scholarship recipients commit to full participation in program activities designed to support both academic and personal growth.Core requirements include:• A three-day cohort kickoff at LinkedIn headquarters in Mountain View, California (all expenses paid)• Monthly mentorship meetings with a LinkedIn engineering mentor• Up to five hours of supplemental learning per semester• Monthly coaching check-ins with the program team• Participation in technical skill-building activities and portfolio development Joining the Scholar Cohort All programming is intentionally designed around the four pillars of persistence. Scholars benefit from a strong sense of community and personalized support throughout college.What scholars can expect includes:• Financial independence support through annual funding and financial skill-building resources• Career readiness guidance including course planning, technical projects, interview preparation, and internship navigation• A strong sense of belonging through cohort connections, on-site experiences, and networking with LinkedIn leaders and employee resource groups• Training in self-advocacy, habit-building, and help-seeking skills, supported by mentors and peer networks Mentorship Program Mentorship is a cornerstone of the Possibilities in Tech Scholarship. Each scholar is paired with a full-time LinkedIn engineer who provides guidance, encouragement, and professional insight throughout the college journey.Mentors and scholars meet monthly to focus on relationship building, skill development, academic navigation, and celebration of milestones. The mentorship model is designed to foster mutual growth, empowering scholars while also strengthening mentors as leaders and allies within the tech community.
