About the James Aryam Scholarships The James Aryam Scholarships are designed to empower women affected by displacement by enabling them to pursue postgraduate studies in education-related fields. The program is delivered in collaboration with Windle International Uganda and Windle International Kenya, two organizations with strong regional experience in supporting refugee education. The scholarship is fully funded and aims to remove financial barriers that often prevent refugee women from accessing higher education. What the Scholarship Covers Successful applicants will receive a comprehensive funding package, including: Full tuition fees A monthly maintenance stipend Relocation costs where applicable This support ensures that scholars can focus entirely on their academic journey without financial strain. Eligibility Criteria The scholarship targets female refugees who meet the following requirements: Currently residing in Uganda or Kenya Originating from one of the following countries: Sudan South Sudan Somalia Somaliland Applicants must carefully review the full eligibility criteria before applying, as exceptions are not permitted. Fields of Study Scholarships are available for candidates pursuing: Taught Master’s degrees Postgraduate Diplomas All programs must be in education-related disciplines, aligning with the scholarship’s mission to strengthen education systems and leadership in affected communities. Participating Universities Eligible candidates can apply to study at the following institutions: Uganda Makerere University Bugema University Uganda Martyrs University Kenya University of Kisubi (as listed in the scholarship details) Uganda Christian University Applicants are strongly encouraged to apply to at least two universities to improve their chances of admission. Application Process To be considered for the James Aryam Scholarships, candidates must complete the following steps: 1.
