The One Young World, in partnership with AstraZeneca, is inviting applications for the Young Health Programme (YHP) Impact Fellowship 2026. This global fellowship is designed to support young leaders who are actively working to improve health outcomes, strengthen communities, and address pressing global challenges. Selected fellows will join a global network of changemakers and attend the One Young World Summit 2026 in **Cape Town, South Africa. The summit will take place from 3–6 November 2026, bringing together young leaders, policymakers, and industry experts committed to creating positive change worldwide. The programme focuses on empowering youth-led initiatives that improve health equity, climate resilience, and the sustainability of healthcare systems. Programme Overview The Young Health Programme Impact Fellowship supports emerging leaders who are driving meaningful change through non-profit initiatives that address the health and well-being of young people. The fellowship aims to accelerate youth-led solutions that contribute to global health and development priorities. Participants will receive funding, mentorship, and access to international networks that enable them to expand the reach and impact of their projects. Key focus areas of the fellowship include: Advancing Health Equity Preventing non-communicable diseases among young people Supporting young people living with rare diseases Promoting early intervention and preventative healthcare Climate and Nature Action Addressing the health impacts of climate change Advocating for environmental sustainability and public health protection Health Systems Resilience Strengthening healthcare systems Supporting early detection and prevention strategies Reducing long-term disease burdens in vulnerable communities Fellowship Benefits Selected fellows will gain access to a range of resources and development opportunities that support the scaling of their initiatives and leadership growth. Access to Global Networks Participants will receive a fully funded scholarship to attend the One Young World Summit 2026 in Cape Town. Fellows will also become members of: The One Young World Ambassador Network The Young Health Programme Alumni Community These networks connect young leaders with peers, experts, and global partners working to improve youth health outcomes. Leadership and Professional Development Fellows will participate in structured learning programmes designed to strengthen leadership capacity and expand project impact. Development opportunities include: Access to the One Young World Academy, an award-winning mini-MBA programme Mentorship from professionals at AstraZeneca Live training sessions and self-paced learning modules Professional skills development focused on leadership, impact measurement, and social innovation Grant Funding Each selected fellow will receive financial support to scale their organization’s health-focused initiatives. Funding opportunities include: USD $10,000 grant to support project implementation USD $50,000 grant for the Lead2030 Challenge for Sustainable Development Goal 3 winner Applicants to the fellowship will automatically be considered for the Lead2030 Challenge. Grant funding will be provided through the fellow’s registered non-profit organisation and must be used to implement projects addressing one of the programme’s priority areas. Eligibility Criteria The fellowship is open to young leaders who are actively working to improve health and well-being in underserved communities. Candidate Requirements Applicants must meet the following criteria: Be 18–30 years old (candidates above 30 may be considered based on demonstrated impact). Demonstrate proficiency in English (reading, writing, and speaking). Be nationals of any country. Be able to participate in person at the One Young World Summit 2026 in Cape Town from 2–7 November 2026. Have access to a device and internet connection to participate in online fellowship activities. Be willing to contribute to collaborative learning, partnerships, and global health advocacy initiatives. Applicants must also: Serve as founders or leaders of registered non-profit organizations. Organizational Requirements Eligible organizations must meet the following criteria: Have been registered and operational for at least three years. Operate in underserved communities. Demonstrate financial transparency and governance capacity. Funding eligibility thresholds include: For the $10,000 grant Annual organizational income between USD $10,000 and $1,000,000. For the $50,000 grant Annual organizational income between USD $100,000 and $2,000,000. Organizations must also be funding-ready and able to provide documentation verifying their legal status and financial structure to the Charities Aid Foundation, which manages the grant verification process. This verification may take three to six months after fellows are selected. Project Implementation Timeline The fellowship includes a structured timeline for grant distribution and project implementation. Key milestones include: Grant distribution: expected by October 2026 Project implementation start: between October 2026 and April 2027 Project completion deadline: December 2027 Projects must align with the fellowship’s focus areas and demonstrate measurable impact on youth health and well-being.
