Role Overview: Project Associate (IFTI) Selected candidates will serve as Project Associates, supporting UNIDO’s programme implementation and project activities. This is a non-staff, temporary appointment for one year, with the possibility of extension for an additional year. Participants will work closely with project managers and multidisciplinary teams, contributing to research, project design, and operational support. Key Responsibilities IFTI Project Associates will engage in a variety of tasks, including: Conducting research on economic, industrial, and environmental trends Supporting project planning, monitoring, and evaluation Drafting reports, presentations, and briefing notes Assisting in organizing training sessions, study tours, and events Maintaining project documentation and knowledge systems This role provides broad exposure to UNIDO’s core functions, including technical cooperation, policy advisory, and partnership development. Eligibility Criteria To qualify for the IFTI programme, applicants must meet the following requirements: Basic Requirements A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent At least two years of relevant work experience Age between 23 and 28 years at the time of application Fluency in English (knowledge of another UN language is an advantage) Additional Criteria Demonstrated interest in industrial development and sustainability Experience in developing countries, particularly in the Global South (desirable) Familiarity with project management, research, or technical cooperation Applicants must also be nationals of eligible UNIDO Member States, primarily from underrepresented regions.
