beVisioneers: The Mercedes-Benz Fellowship 20226 – Shaping the Future of Sustainability
globalsouthopportunities.com

Application Deadline

January 7, 2026

Description

The DO School Fellowships gGmbH, in partnership with Mercedes-Benz, offers an innovative program designed to nurture a new generation of changemakers. Known as beVisioneers: The Mercedes-Benz Fellowship, this initiative equips young leaders with the skills, resources, and mentorship needed to design and implement impactful environmental projects worldwide. Programme Overview Launched in 2023, the fellowship was created with the goal of empowering thousands of young people to address urgent environmental challenges. Through training, mentoring, and access to financial support, fellows are guided to transform their ideas into viable solutions that contribute to a sustainable future. The fellowship begins with a 12-month intensive phase that requires a minimum of 24 hours of commitment each month. During this time, participants engage in award-winning innovation training through online modules, attend community-based Local Hub gatherings, and join a Regional Summit that brings fellows together for collaborative learning and inspiration. What sets the fellowship apart is its hands-on support structure. Participants receive regular access to venture coaches, personalised one-to-one mentoring, and peer exchange with fellow changemakers. This combination ensures that ideas are not only refined but also effectively implemented in real-world contexts. At the conclusion of the foundational year, fellows become eligible to apply for project scholarships of up to €20,000. These funds enable participants to further develop, expand, and implement their environmental initiatives, creating measurable impact in their local communities and beyond. Long-Term Impact The fellowship does not end after the first year. Graduates of the intensive phase continue their journey as part of a vibrant long-term community, where they deepen their leadership abilities and work on scaling their projects. This extended network fosters collaboration and provides access to ongoing opportunities, ensuring that fellows are supported as they grow into influential leaders in sustainability. By combining training, mentorship, and financial resources, the fellowship is designed to provide holistic support that continues to shape fellows long after the initial programme. Eligibility Criteria The fellowship has a clear focus on engaging young people with the potential to lead positive change. Applicants must meet the following criteria: Age requirement: Candidates must be between 16 and 28 years old at the time of application. Only those born between January 26, 1997, and September 17, 2009 are eligible. Language requirement: Since the programme is conducted entirely in English, applicants must demonstrate strong written and spoken English skills. Proficiency will be assessed through application responses and the recorded interview stage. Residency requirement: Eligibility is restricted to residents of specific countries across Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Americas. Countries include, among others, Germany, France, United Kingdom, United States, Canada, India, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Vietnam, and Zimbabwe. The hybrid design of the programme ensures accessibility for participants from diverse regions. Fellows engage in online learning modules while also taking part in in-person Local Hub activities and Regional Summits, enabling both global networking and local community-building. Application Process Applications for the upcoming intake must be submitted by January 25, 2026, at 23:59 CET. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply early and carefully demonstrate their motivation, environmental commitment, and leadership potential. The application process includes written responses and a recorded interview, both of which are designed to assess alignment with the programme’s values and objectives. Building a Global Movement beVisioneers: The Mercedes-Benz Fellowship is more than an educational programme; it is a platform for global collaboration. By nurturing young environmental leaders and supporting their innovative projects, it contributes to building a worldwide network of changemakers dedicated to tackling climate and sustainability challenges. Backed by Mercedes-Benz and delivered by The DO School Fellowships, the initiative reflects a shared commitment to innovation, sustainability, and empowerment. It aims to ensure that young leaders not only envision a better future but also have the tools, networks, and resources to bring that vision to life. For motivated individuals ready to turn their environmental ideas into transformative projects, this fellowship represents a unique opportunity to make a lasting difference. Application deadline: January 25, 2026, at 23:59 Central European Time.
