GMHAC 2027 Fully Funded Scholarships The Science for Africa Foundation (SFA Foundation) and the Mental Health Innovation Network (MHIN) have opened applications for GMHAC 2027 Scholarships, providing financial support to individuals who would otherwise be unable to attend the Global Mental Health in Africa Conference (GMHAC) 2027 due to financial constraints. The scholarship programme aims to ensure that the voices shaping the future of mental health in Africa—including researchers, students, practitioners, policymakers, and individuals with lived experience—are represented at one of the continent’s leading mental health gatherings. Priority will be given to applicants based in Africa who demonstrate financial need. About the GMHAC 2027 Scholarships The Global Mental Health in Africa Conference (GMHAC) brings together researchers, healthcare professionals, policymakers, advocates, civil society organizations, and people with lived experience to discuss innovative approaches to improving mental health systems across Africa. Recognizing that financial barriers often prevent important voices from participating, the Science for Africa Foundation and the Mental Health Innovation Network are offering a limited number of scholarships to support participation at #GMHAC2027. The initiative seeks to create a more inclusive conference by ensuring representation from individuals working directly within African communities and those with personal experience of mental health conditions. Why This Opportunity Matters Mental health remains one of the most underfunded areas of healthcare globally, particularly across many African countries. Conferences such as GMHAC provide a valuable platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and the development of innovative solutions that address local mental health challenges. By supporting early career researchers, students, practitioners, and individuals with lived experience, the scholarship programme helps ensure that diverse perspectives are represented in discussions shaping the future of mental health across Africa. For emerging professionals, the conference also offers opportunities to connect with leading experts, build professional networks, share research, and contribute to policy conversations that can influence mental health systems across the continent. Notification of Results All applicants will be informed of the outcome of their scholarship application via email. Successful applicants will receive detailed information about the support awarded, travel arrangements (where applicable), and participation requirements before the conference. Need Assistance?
