The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has released the official statistics and results for the Stage 3 Computer-Based Test (CBT) conducted as part of the 2025 recruitment exercise. The board also confirmed that Stage 4 Physical Screening and Document Verification will begin soon for candidates who passed the exam. Overview of the CDCFIB 2025 Recruitment Exercise The 2025 CDCFIB recruitment is a nationwide process aimed at selecting qualified Nigerians to join four key paramilitary agencies under the Ministry of Interior: Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) Federal Fire Service (FFS) Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) The exercise is structured into multiple stages to ensure that only the most competent and eligible candidates advance to the final phase. Breakdown of Recruitment Stages Application Phase (Completed) Application Period: 14 July – 11 August 2025 The first phase involved online registration through the CDCFIB portal, attracting massive interest from Nigerians across the country. Total Applications Received NCoS: 165,212 NIS: 703,499 FFS: 406,491 NSCDC: 482,198 CDCFIB: 116,122 Grand Total: 1,873,522 applications The Nigerian Immigration Service recorded the highest number of applicants, with over 700,000 submissions highlighting the strong interest in paramilitary roles among Nigerian youths. Application Shortlisting Results After the submission period, the board carried out a detailed screening process. Here’s the breakdown: Completed Applications: 1,120,491 applicants successfully submitted all required information and documents. Incomplete Applications: 432,935 applications were flagged due to missing details or incomplete submissions. Disqualified Applications: 360,923 were rejected for failing eligibility requirements or submitting incorrect information. This process reduced the applicant pool from over 1.8 million to about 1.1 million eligible candidates who then moved to the examination stage. CBT Examination Statistics Candidates Who Sat for the Exam: 872,391 (77.9% of shortlisted applicants) Violations Recorded: 106,408 candidates (12.2% of participants) Absent Candidates: 141,692 (12.8% of shortlisted candidates) The board noted that over 100,000 candidates were involved in various forms of exam violations, which may lead to disqualification.
