CDCFIB RECORDS HISTORIC SUCCESS WITH FIRST-EVER DIGITAL ORAL INTERVIEW ACROSS 6 GEOPOLITICAL ZONES The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has recorded a historic milestone with the successful conduct of the digital oral interview for the 2024/2025 recruitment exercise across the six geopolitical zones of the country, the first of its kind. For the first time in the Board’s history, the oral interview staged a critical component of the recruitment process, conducted using a hybrid digital model. Under this new system, shortlisted candidates present their official invitation slip at their designated zonal centres, the slip is scanned and instantly verified on the CDCFIB recruitment portal, after which the candidate proceeds for the oral interview with scores captured digitally in real-time. This innovation has dismantled the old system of physical convergence of thousands in Abuja, eliminated logistical bottlenecks, security risk of travelling long distances, reduced cost and stress for applicants, and brought the recruitment process closer to the people. This landmark achievement is a clear testament to the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, which champions technology-driven governance, efficiency, and citizen-centered service delivery. Under the reform-driven leadership and digital transformation vision of the Honourable Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Board, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Board has continued to entrench transparency, fairness and merit throughout the recruitment exercise. In line with this, the Secretary to the Board, Maj. Gen. (Rtd) A M Jibril, has concluded a comprehensive tour of all oral interview centres across the six geopolitical zones. The Secretary expressed satisfaction with the seamless conduct of the exercise, commended the professionalism of the interview panels and the discipline of the candidates, and described the process as transparent, orderly and a new standard set for public service recruitment exercise in Nigeria. The Board commends all shortlisted candidates for their cooperation, patience and reiterates that the entire recruitment process remains free, fair, transparent and strictly merit-based. The CDCFIB remains committed to sustaining this digital momentum and setting a new benchmark for recruitment in Nigeria’s public service, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr. President.
