The Federal Ministry of Education has launched the Inspire Live(s) Online Real-Time Classes Initiative, a nationwide digital learning programme created to give students across Nigeria better access to quality education. In a statement released on Tuesday and signed by the Director of Press and Public Relations, Folasade Boriowo, the ministry described Inspire Live(s) as a major step forward in making quality learning accessible to every Nigerian child. The programme, it noted, aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.According to the ministry, the initiative was developed to tackle long-standing issues in the education sector, such as the shortage of qualified teachers and regular interruptions in learning. By delivering live, interactive lessons straight to students, Inspire Live(s) “opens the door to equal learning opportunities and ensures that no child is excluded, regardless of location or circumstance.”The Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, confirmed that full implementation is already in progress. He added that the programme will continue expanding until it covers all levels from Primary 1 to Senior Secondary 3.At the moment, the Inspire platform provides online classes for both JSS and SSS students. Lessons run Monday to Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and are taught by certified master teachers through Cisco Webex. For Junior Secondary School students, subjects offered include: Basic Science, Mathematics, English Language, ICT, Agricultural Science, Basic Technology, Civic Education, French, Physical Education, Religious Studies, History, and Business Studies.Senior Secondary School students have access to: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English Language, Mathematics, Economics, Geography, Agricultural Science, Technical Drawing/Catering Craft, Civic Education, and Automobile Mechanics.
