Scholarship Offers Full Tuition and Generous Living Support The Human Rights Scholarship provides one of the most comprehensive graduate research funding packages available at the University of Melbourne. Successful recipients will receive: Full tuition fee remission Living allowance valued at $44,500 per year Relocation grant for eligible students Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for international students The total scholarship value ranges between $89,000 and $155,000, depending on the duration and level of study. The university confirmed that the living allowance includes limited paid sick leave, maternity leave, and parenting leave provisions for eligible scholars. Funding Available for Masters and Doctoral Research The scholarship supports both Master by Research and Doctoral degree candidates undertaking research in the field of human rights. Funding durations include: Up to 2 years for Master by Research students Up to 3.5 years living allowance for Doctoral students Up to 4 years full tuition fee offset for Doctoral programmes International students requiring a student visa will also receive Overseas Student Health Cover as part of the scholarship package. Eligibility Requirements for Applicants To qualify for the Human Rights Scholarship, applicants must: Receive an offer for a graduate research degree at the University of Melbourne Intend to undertake research in the field of human rights Not already hold a research qualification at the same or higher academic level The scholarship is open to both domestic and international students planning future graduate research study. Only four scholarships will be awarded, making the programme highly competitive.
