What Horizon Fellows Will Do Successful applicants will be placed in full-time policy positions aligned with their expertise, professional interests and career objectives. Senior Fellow: The new senior level is generally intended for professionals with at least 12 years of full-time experience and substantial leadership experience. Horizon Fellowship 2027 Programme Structure The fellowship programme will consist of three main phases. Training — January to March 2027 Selected fellows will participate in part-time, remote training covering the workings of the federal government and practical policy skills, including policy analysis and memo writing. Training will also include an in-person weekend in Washington, DC. Matching — April to May 2027 Following training, fellows will participate in an individualised placement process. Horizon will support candidates with introductions, application feedback and interview preparation as they pursue host organisations aligned with their interests. Placement — Spring/Summer 2027 onward After securing a placement, fellows will begin full-time work with their host organisation, which will supervise and direct their responsibilities.
