International Conference on Feminism, Gender and Law 2026 has officially opened its Call for Abstracts, inviting scholars, researchers, legal practitioners, and academic institutions worldwide to contribute to this year’s global conference themed “Feminist Law-making.” The conference will take place on 18 September 2026 in Ho Chi Minh City and is hosted by the University of Economics and Law in collaboration with the Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung. ICFGL 2026 marks a significant evolution in feminist legal scholarship by shifting focus from legal critique and feminist judgments toward active legislative drafting and transformative law-making. Conference Theme: “Feminist Law-making” This year’s conference explores how feminist legal theory can move beyond analyzing existing legal systems toward actively shaping future legislation and legal reform. The conference seeks to foster discussions on integrating feminist perspectives into legal drafting, policymaking, governance, and institutional reform processes. Key thematic areas include: Feminist legal history Public and private law divides Legal mobilization Intersectionality DIY law reform and feminist legislation The event serves as a bridge between the foundational phase of the Feminist Legal Theory Project and its strategic 2027–2030 direction focused on feminist legislation. International Awards 7 grants available Includes: Round-trip international airfare One-night hotel accommodation Domestic Awards (Outside Ho Chi Minh City) 12 grants available Includes: Round-trip domestic travel Two-night hotel accommodation Travel grants will be awarded based on the quality and impact of submitted final manuscripts. Capacity Building Seminar Selected participants and contributors are also invited to attend a pre-conference seminar on 17 September 2026 titled: “Navigating the Field: How to Publish in Feminist Jurisprudence” The session will be led by Rosemary Hunter and will focus on: Academic publishing strategies Structuring feminist legal scholarship Submitting to international journals Building publication pipelines for emerging researchers About the Conference Organizers The conference is part of the Feminist Legal Theory Project, a collaborative initiative focused on integrating feminist legal theory into legal education, research, and legal practice in Vietnam. The initiative is jointly led by: University of Economics and Law Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung The project has been instrumental in introducing feminist legal theory and feminist judgments methodologies to Vietnamese academic and legal communities since 2021. Venue and Location The conference will be hosted at: University of Economics and Law The university is part of Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh City and is accessible through Metro Line 1, city buses, taxis, and ride-hailing services such as Grab and Xanh SM.
