The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has opened applications for a Strategic Communications and Graphic Design Consultant to support the CAPACITY Programme, a flagship migration governance initiative implemented by IOM Denmark. The consultancy opportunity is open to experienced communications professionals with expertise in strategic communications, graphic design, visual storytelling, knowledge products, reporting, and stakeholder engagement. The selected consultant will work remotely to develop high-quality communication materials, visibility products, reports, presentations, dashboards, and knowledge resources that showcase programme achievements and strengthen engagement with donors, governments, partners, and senior stakeholders. This consultancy is expected to last four months within an overall contract period of up to 11 months, with no travel required. About the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Established in 1951, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) is a related organization of the United Nations and the leading global agency working on migration issues. About the CAPACITY Programme The Strategic Communications and Graphic Design Consultant will support the CAPACITY Programme, which forms Pillar I of the Danish Migration Management Programme (2024–2029). Funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark and implemented by IOM, the programme focuses on strengthening: Migration governance systems Institutional capacity development Regional cooperation mechanisms Safe, orderly, and regular migration pathways Rights-based return, readmission, and sustainable reintegration The programme operates through IOM Country Offices in: Algeria Lebanon Morocco Nigeria Somalia Syria It also includes regional activities across the Middle East, North Africa, and East and Horn of Africa regions. Key Responsibilities of the Consultant The consultant will support the development of strategic communication and knowledge products that improve programme visibility and communicate results effectively. Responsibilities include: Strategic Presentation Development The consultant will create: High-level CAPACITY Programme presentations Presentation packages for donor representatives, government partners, and senior stakeholders Supporting speaking materials for external engagements Country-Level Communication Materials The consultant will develop country-focused communication packages highlighting programme achievements and priorities. Deliverables include: Presentation package for Syria Presentation package for Lebanon Adaptable presentation framework for the wider CAPACITY Programme portfolio Programme Reporting Products The consultant will support the creation of key reporting materials, including: CAPACITY Quarterly Flash Update covering July–September reporting period Two-Year Programme Summary Report covering December 2024–November 2026 implementation Communication advice for programme anniversary information materials The consultant will ensure reports are accessible, visually engaging, and suitable for different audiences. Internal Communication Products The consultant will develop materials to strengthen awareness among IOM stakeholders, including: Internal CAPACITY Programme presentation Communication briefing package for IOM Denmark communication teams Key messaging recommendations External Programme Dashboard The consultant will refine and finalize the CAPACITY external dashboard using the existing Power BI product and available programme information. The dashboard should support: Stakeholder engagement Programme visibility Communication of programme updates External information sharing Required Qualifications and Experience Applicants should demonstrate professional experience in strategic communications, graphic design, reporting, or related fields. Essential Requirements: Candidates must have: Minimum five years of relevant professional experience Experience in strategic communications, knowledge management, donor reporting, editorial work, or public affairs Proven experience producing communication materials for international organizations, development agencies, governments, or similar institutions Experience developing presentations, reports, briefing documents, and stakeholder communication materials Ability to transform complex technical information into clear and engaging content Experience working with humanitarian, development, migration, governance, or international policy topics is an advantage Desirable Experience Additional advantages include: Previous experience working with IOM Experience producing communication products related to migration management Experience working with UN agencies or international organizations Familiarity with donor-funded programmes and reporting requirements Required Skills The ideal candidate should have expertise in: Strategic communication planning Graphic design Visual storytelling Report and publication design Presentation development Infographics creation Digital content production Knowledge management Stakeholder communication Language Requirements Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of additional languages is an advantage, particularly: French Arabic Language skills may be assessed during the recruitment process.
