About One Acre Fund Founded in 2006, One Acre Fund works with smallholder farmers across Africa to improve agricultural productivity, incomes, and resilience. The organisation currently supports 5.5 million smallholder farmers across countries that collectively represent a significant proportion of Africa’s farming population. The organisation provides farmers with services including farm supplies, tree seedlings, accessible credit, agronomic training, and other agricultural support. One Acre Fund established its Nigeria programme in 2018, with its headquarters in Minna, Niger State. The programme currently supports more than 100,000 unique farmers in the state through its agricultural input, retail, and agroforestry programmes. Recruitment Intern Responsibilities The Recruitment Intern will support the recruitment team with administrative, coordination, candidate management, and process improvement activities. Key responsibilities include: Executing recurring administrative recruitment tasks while maintaining accurate trackers and documentation. Supporting candidate screening, including CV longlisting and interview scheduling. Communicating professionally and promptly with candidates throughout the recruitment process. Maintaining candidate information and application statuses within the Applicant Tracking System. Supporting the extraction of basic recruitment data for weekly reporting. Identifying recruitment process bottlenecks in collaboration with the manager. Supporting the introduction of new recruitment tools and process improvements. Coordinating interview panel logistics and ensuring interviewers have the required materials. Briefing candidates ahead of interviews. Supporting ad-hoc projects and wider team operations as required. The role will provide exposure to the operational side of recruitment while allowing the intern to develop practical human resources and coordination skills. Qualifications and Skills One Acre Fund is seeking candidates with a combination of academic qualifications, relevant exposure, communication skills, and attention to detail. Applicants should have: A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study. Six months to one year of recruitment or HR experience, preferably in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with Google Workspace. Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems such as Greenhouse is an advantage. Basic data analysis skills and the ability to identify patterns. Strong learning ability and curiosity. Excellent attention to detail. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Proficiency in English. Previous recruitment or HR experience will be particularly relevant for candidates applying for the opportunity. Professional Development and Mentorship The internship forms part of One Acre Fund’s Young Professionals Program, which is designed to provide practical work experience and professional development opportunities. Interns participate in onboarding and receive training related to project design and execution. They also benefit from regular engagement with managers, mentorship, training, and performance feedback. The organisation conducts career reviews every one to three months, giving interns opportunities to discuss their professional aspirations and career development goals. Location, Benefits and Eligibility The Recruitment Intern position is based in Minna, Niger State, Nigeria, and the preferred start date is as soon as possible. The opportunity is open only to citizens or permanent residents of Nigeria. Interns will receive a reasonable stipend for the duration of their contracts.
