Qualifications The Hertie School welcomes applications from candidates holding an exceptionally strong Master’s degree (or equivalent) in economics, law, political science, sociology, data science, public administration, management, or related disciplines. In 2026, the selection committee is especially interested in candidates whose research employs quantitative methods to explore topics such as digital authoritarianism, state repression, online contentious politics, and social movements in the digital age.
