The Sankofa Impact Collective is seeking a Partnerships Manager to support the intentional growth of its community through trusted, values-aligned relationships. This part-time, contract role is fully remote and open to candidates globally. Sankofa grows through care, integrity, and alignment rather than transactional outreach or rapid scaling. Partnerships are central to this approach. The Partnerships Manager plays a critical role in building and stewarding relationships with organizations, networks, and collectives that already serve engaged communities of women who are seeking sustainability, alignment, and long-term growth. This role ensures that growth happens through invitation, trust, and fit, creating pathways that feel grounded, respectful, and mutually beneficial. Role Overview The Partnerships Manager is responsible for developing and nurturing relationships that support Sankofa’s community growth in a way that aligns with its values and capacity. Rather than focusing on volume, this role prioritizes thoughtful engagement with partners whose missions and communities resonate with Sankofa’s purpose. These partnerships help women doing meaningful work discover Sankofa as a space where their work, leadership, and well-being can be supported over the long term. The Partnerships Manager acts as a steward of these relationships, ensuring they remain values-aligned, reciprocal, and rooted in trust. This is not a sales or lead-generation role. It is a relationship-driven position focused on discernment, long-term engagement, and building an ecosystem of aligned collaborators. Why This Role Matters Sankofa’s growth strategy is centered on sustainability, readiness, and community health. Without careful stewardship, partnerships can become extractive or misaligned, undermining trust and long-term impact. The Partnerships Manager ensures that growth happens at a pace and in a way that feels supportive to both the community and its partners. By cultivating relationships with organizations serving women creatives, entrepreneurs, and leaders, including Black-led spaces and broader communities where Black women are already present and engaged, this role helps create meaningful entry points into Sankofa. The result is growth that feels intentional, relational, and deeply aligned with Sankofa’s mission. What the Partnerships Manager Will Own The Partnerships Manager will own how Sankofa grows through collaboration, shaping the relationships and pathways that invite the right people into the community. Success in this role is reflected in a strong, trusted network of partners and partnership-led recruitment that feels consistent, clear, and values-driven. Key areas of ownership include: Partnership Strategy and Relationship BuildingIdentifying, initiating, and stewarding relationships with aligned organizations, networks, and collectives. Experience and Background Sankofa is looking for someone who brings a blend of relationship-building expertise, strategic thinking, and storytelling ability. The role requires comfort navigating external-facing conversations while maintaining alignment with internal values and realities. Ideal candidates often bring: 3–7 years of experience in partnerships, recruitment, community growth, business development, nonprofit work, or other relationship-driven roles Experience engaging stakeholders across organizations and communities The ability to clearly articulate value, purpose, and alignment in partnership conversations Strong storytelling skills that communicate mission and impact in a resonant and accessible way Experience contributing to or leading recruitment strategies or partnership-based growth initiatives Comfort working with qualitative insights and light data to inform decisions A balance of strategic thinking and reliable follow-through on execution Experience representing organizations thoughtfully and professionally in external settings Cultural fluency and relational intelligence, particularly in community-centered and identity-aware spaces Candidates do not need to meet every requirement to apply. Sankofa values alignment, intention, and lived experience alongside formal qualifications.
