You can learn more about UN Women’s values and competencies framework here: https://www.unwomen.org/en/about-us/employment/application-process#values Eligibility Requirements To be eligible for the UN Women Internship Programme, applicants must meet one of the following criteria: Be enrolled in a Master’s, post-graduate, or PhD programme Be in the final year of a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) Have graduated within the last two years and be able to commence the internship within that timeframe Be enrolled in a national service obligation programme where the internship forms part of the requirement Be enrolled in a professional traineeship programme linked to a postgraduate degree There is no age limit, and applications are encouraged from candidates across the Global South and underrepresented communities. Duration and Work Arrangement Internships range from a minimum of two months to a maximum of six months, depending on academic requirements, intern availability, and office needs. Most assignments are full-time and are offered throughout the year, making the programme flexible for different academic calendars. Internships may be in-person, hybrid, or remote, depending on the duty station and role. Financial Aspects UN Women internships are not salaried positions. However, interns may receive a stipend to help cover basic daily expenses such as meals and local transportation, provided they are not financially supported by another institution (e.g. a university or scholarship programme).
