globalsouthopportunities.com

Application Deadline

December 31, 2025

Description

Overview The 2026 Fellowship application for the Fellowships at Auschwitz for the Study of Professional Ethics (FASPE) is officially open and will remain accessible until Sunday, January 4, 2026, at 11:59 PM EST. Interested candidates who wish to stay informed about key updates and program details are encouraged to complete the designated information form. The Fellowship continues FASPE’s longstanding commitment to advancing rigorous, ethics-based learning across professional fields by bringing together emerging leaders for an intensive study of contemporary ethical challenges. Program Structure and Dates FASPE offers six distinct fellowship programs, each designed to explore ethical issues within specific professional disciplines. The 2026 program calendar includes two sets of travel-based, seminar-style sessions: Law, Business, and Design & Technology: May 22, 2026 – June 5, 2026 Medical, Clergy & Religious Leaders, and Journalism: June 19, 2026 – July 3, 2026 Further program descriptions, eligibility requirements, and curricular themes are available through the Fellowships section on the FASPE website. Prospective applicants are advised to review these materials in detail to confirm eligibility prior to beginning their application. Application Platform and Submission Requirements All applications must be completed and submitted via the FASPE Submittable portal. Applicants are urged to read all instructions carefully before beginning, ensuring a smooth and accurate submission process. The application consists of several required components, each of which plays an important role in the review process. Online Application Form The online form is the first component of the application. Through this form, applicants provide essential background information, including: Contact details Academic institutions attended Employment history Names and contact information for recommenders and references This form serves as the administrative foundation of the application and must be completed accurately and in full. Resume or Curriculum Vitae Applicants must submit an up-to-date resume or CV that outlines their academic history, professional experience, recognitions, achievements, and any publications. This document helps the review committee understand the applicant’s trajectory, qualifications, and relevant experiences that may inform their engagement with the fellowship. Transcript Requirements FASPE requires transcripts from all higher education institutions at which the applicant has completed significant coursework. Unofficial transcripts are acceptable, provided they are complete and clearly legible. However, screenshots of online academic records are not allowed. Electronic transcripts or scanned copies of physical documents are preferred. For applicants currently in the first year of a program whose grades are not yet available, a letter from the dean is required. This letter should confirm enrollment, verify good academic standing, and ideally list current courses. Admissions letters or registrar confirmations that do not specify degree programs or academic status are not accepted as substitutes. Short Essay Questions A critical component of the application is the set of short essay responses. Essay prompts vary according to the fellowship track selected, and the required total word count is provided within the Submittable platform. Applicants are encouraged to answer thoughtfully and concisely, drawing on experiences that demonstrate their engagement with ethical questions in their field. Letters of Recommendation Two letters of recommendation must be submitted directly by recommenders through Submittable by January 9, 2026. For current students, the strongest letters typically come from faculty who have taught them in their most recent or current graduate program. Letters from undergraduate faculty or previous graduate studies are acceptable when relevant. For early-career professionals, letters may be submitted by supervisors or senior colleagues who can speak to the applicant’s abilities and ethical awareness. Recommenders are asked to address several key areas, including: The applicant’s academic or professional contributions relevant to ethical inquiry Quality of participation in discussions and communication skills Responses to challenging or emotionally charged situations Ability to collaborate and travel effectively in small-group environments Evidence of leadership potential within their field Additional Information and Support FASPE expresses sincere appreciation for applicants’ interest in the program and looks forward to reviewing submissions. Applicants may proceed to the Submittable portal via the designated button on the application webpage. Any questions regarding the process should be directed to applications@faspe-ethics.org.
