Eco Ambassadors Solutions Lab: Empowering the Next Generation of Sustainability Leaders The Eco Ambassadors Solutions Lab (EASL) is a global virtual program designed to equip high school students with the knowledge, tools, and mindset needed to address pressing sustainability challenges. Organized by SDGs Today in collaboration with Columbia University, the program blends education, technology, and leadership development to prepare young people as active contributors to sustainable development. About the Program The Eco Ambassadors Solutions Lab is an eight-week, fully virtual program offered free of charge to high school students worldwide. It adopts a bottom-up learning approach, encouraging participants to take ownership of discussions, identify key sustainability issues, and co-create solutions relevant to their communities. The program combines sustainability education with practical training in tools such as geospatial technologies and digital storytelling. Delivered through Google Classroom, it includes two live sessions per week, along with interactive assignments and collaborative activities. Core Learning Pillars EASL offers a well-rounded curriculum built on seven key pillars: 1. Environmental Literacy and Climate Action Participants gain a strong foundation in climate science and sustainability, enabling them to take informed action at local and global levels. 2. Technical and Practical Skills Training Students are introduced to real-world tools and technologies, including Geographic Information Systems (GIS), to analyze and address sustainability challenges. 3. Citizen Science and Research Engagement The program encourages learners to contribute to scientific research through data collection and community-based inquiry. 4. Mentorship and Professional Networks Participants connect with global experts, mentors, and like-minded peers, building networks that extend beyond the program. 5. Digital Media and Storytelling for Impact Students learn how to use digital platforms and storytelling techniques to communicate ideas and inspire change. 6. Global Citizenship and Social Responsibility The curriculum promotes cross-cultural understanding, empathy, and a commitment to equity and justice. 7. Youth Leadership and Policy Advocacy Students are empowered to lead initiatives and engage in policy discussions that drive environmental and social progress. Certification: Participants receive a certificate upon successful completion of the program. 2026 Program Theme The 2026 edition focuses on “Factivism & Connectivity in the Age of AI.” This theme explores how digital connectivity and fact-based narratives are evolving alongside artificial intelligence.
