ACAPS, an independent humanitarian analysis organization based in the Netherlands, is expanding its roster of expert consultants. This initiative is designed to incorporate diverse skills and perspectives into analytical work, supporting evidence-based decision-making in humanitarian contexts. ACAPS is seeking senior consultants with specialized experience in food security and nutrition to join this roster. Area of Expertise Consultants should have expertise in: Food security and nutrition analysis Assessing drivers of malnutrition and food insecurity Identifying barriers to achieving food security Risk analysis related to food availability, access, and utilization Types of Engagement Consultants may be engaged for various types of assignments: One-off Support Short-term tasks lasting from a few hours to several days Examples include reviewing documents, conducting single training sessions, or providing expert input on reports Short-Term Support Assignments lasting from several weeks up to three months Focused on achieving specific outputs such as: Supporting project proposal design Contributing to a series of outputs Implementing short-term capacity-building initiatives All work must align with ACAPS’ editorial guidelines, product typology, and quality standards. Work Location and Contract Work is primarily home-based, though some tasks may require travel depending on expertise Consultants will receive a 12-month Service Agreement issued by ACAPS Stichting, Netherlands Specific tasks will be assigned via Scopes of Work (SoW) detailing outputs, duration, deadlines, and fees Inclusion on the roster does not obligate consultants to accept assignments, nor does it guarantee work All consultants must adhere to ACAPS terms, maintain adequate insurance, and comply with the ACAPS Code of Conduct. Fee Range Indicative daily rates: €300–€500, exclusive of VAT Rates depend on the scope of work, level of expertise, duration, and travel requirements ACAPS reserves the right to adjust fees with transparent communication to consultants Consultant Profile Applications are evaluated based on: Technical Expertise: Relevant experience in food security and nutrition Humanitarian Expertise: Previous work in the humanitarian sector ACAPS Experience: Familiarity with ACAPS methods, enabling rapid onboarding Price: Alignment with ACAPS’ daily fee range Application Process Proposals must be submitted by 17 February 2026 and include: Expertise and Experience: Description of relevant work and comparable assignments Relevant Projects: Annex with examples of previous projects Financial Details: Daily rate in Euros, excluding VAT References: Contact information for at least two references linked to work samples Consultants may apply to multiple areas of expertise. Each area requires a separate application, though the same proposal may be reused. Proposals for multiple areas can be up to five pages, excluding attachments. Selection for the roster does not guarantee work, and acceptance of roster membership does not obligate consultants to accept assignments. All successful consultants will undergo standard ACAPS vetting and verification. About ACAPS ACAPS is committed to ensuring humanitarian decisions are guided by reliable evidence. Consultants joining the roster contribute to turning complex data into actionable insights that improve humanitarian outcomes.
