About the Role Action Against Hunger (ACF) Nigeria is recruiting field-based Enumerators to join its Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) pool in Damasak, Borno State. The Enumerators will work under the supervision of the MEAL Officer to support quantitative and qualitative data collection tasks, including beneficiary registration, baseline/endline household surveys, routine project monitoring, and community feedback collection across project sites. Key Responsibilities Data Collection: Conduct precise qualitative and quantitative field surveys using paper forms and mobile data collection tools. Verification & Validation: Locate, identify, and validate target respondents before administering survey tools. Field Supervision: Support field movements, manage device handling, and perform routine spot-checks on daily data collection quality. Accountability & Feedback: Receive and document beneficiary complaints, report feedback to the MEAL accountability unit, and distribute reporting forms to community stakeholders. Daily Reporting: Provide structured daily progress updates, debriefs, and field observations to the MEAL Officer. Eligibility Criteria & Minimum Requirements Education: Minimum of SSCE along with a Diploma in Science, Social Sciences, or a related discipline. Experience: At least 1 year of hands-on experience in field data collection, household surveys, or community engagement activities (NGO experience is an advantage). Language Proficiency: Fluency in English and at least two local languages spoken in the area, specifically Hausa, Kanuri, Fulani, or Shuwa. Technical Skills: Practical experience using smartphones, tablets, and digital/mobile data collection applications (e.g., KoboCollect, ODK). Contextual Knowledge: Deep understanding of local community dynamics, cultural nuances, gender/protection considerations, and humanitarian principles in conflict/post-conflict environments.
