Overview of the Agog Climate Futures Open Call The Agog Open Call is designed to support projects that use immersive media to help audiences better understand climate challenges and imagine more sustainable futures. The programme is open to a wide range of applicants, including: Artists and creative studios Technologists and XR developers Researchers and climate communicators Nonprofit organisations and advocacy groups Cross-disciplinary creative teams Projects may range from early-stage ideas to more developed prototypes, as long as they demonstrate strong storytelling potential and a clear impact vision. Focus of the 2026 Climate Futures Programme The 2026 call focuses on the use of immersive technologies to create engaging climate-related experiences. These technologies may include augmented reality, mixed reality, spatial audio, and emerging XR tools. Key thematic areas include: Climate storytelling and civic engagement experiences Tools for community resilience during climate disasters Equity-focused climate solutions for frontline communities Immersive experiences that deepen connection to nature Future-focused world-building and climate imagination Innovative and experimental approaches to public climate engagement The programme prioritises projects that combine creativity with real-world relevance and public impact. Funding Structure and Support Agog is offering substantial financial support to selected projects, with grants ranging from: $25,000 to $200,000 per project Up to $1 million total funding pool across selected initiatives In addition to funding, recipients may receive: Mentorship from XR and climate experts Advisory support from industry leaders Opportunities for partnerships and distribution Strategic guidance for project development This combination of funding and support is intended to help projects move from concept to implementation and broader public engagement. Who Can Apply The Open Call is open to both individuals (via organisations) and teams working in immersive media and climate-related fields. Applicants must submit through a US-based registered entity, such as a nonprofit, company, or fiscal sponsor. Eligible applicants include: XR and immersive media creators Climate-focused organisations exploring new media tools Research teams working on climate communication Innovation studios and interdisciplinary collectives Agog also welcomes organisations that are new to immersive media but have strong climate-focused missions and are looking to expand into XR storytelling.
