The Agroecology Fund (AEF) is seeking an experienced and mission-aligned Resource Development Manager to join its global, remote team. This full-time, open-ended position offers an opportunity to play a leadership role in mobilising resources that strengthen agroecology movements and support resilient, equitable food systems worldwide. About the Agroecology Fund The Agroecology Fund is a multi-donor fund that supports agroecology movements across the globe. Its mission is to mobilise resources to build power that transforms food systems while fostering the well-being of people and the planet. AEF prioritises initiatives that promote the economic and nutritional well-being and human rights of smallholder farmers and Indigenous Peoples, strengthen biodiversity conservation, and contribute to climate change mitigation. AEF operates with a small, decentralised team working remotely from different countries. The organisation values collaboration, equity, and shared leadership, and offers significant scope for initiative and professional growth. The Agroecology Fund is fiscally sponsored by the Global Greengrants Fund and works closely with partners across regions to amplify grassroots-led agroecology efforts. About the Role The Resource Development Manager is responsible for leading effective and efficient resource development processes that ensure the long-term sustainability of the Agroecology Fund’s global and regional operations. The role reports directly to one of the Co-Directors and works closely with colleagues across Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL), Finance, Operations, and Communications. This position is well suited to a mid-career fundraising professional with strong donor engagement, proposal development, and project management skills, as well as a deep commitment to agroecology and systems change. Key Responsibilities Fundraising and Resource Mobilisation (80%) Build, strengthen, and steward relationships with existing donors, supporting retention and renewals Maintain a portfolio of donors for cultivation and long-term engagement Identify and cultivate new donors through prospecting, outreach, and participation in relevant conferences and events Write high-quality funding proposals, concept notes, and donor reports Track donor deliverables and maintain an accurate calendar of proposal and reporting deadlines Work with colleagues to develop multi-year resource development strategies and annual fundraising plans Collaborate with the Communications team to develop compelling fundraising materials Coordinate with the MEL team to gather timely grantee stories, outcomes, and impact data for proposals and reports Represent the Agroecology Fund at in-person and virtual events that increase organisational visibility and fundraising opportunities Explore additional fundraising approaches, such as online giving, where aligned with the strategic plan Financial Coordination (10%) Coordinate with the Chief Financial Officer on restricted grants, proposal budgets, and donor financial reporting Ensure alignment between donor requirements and internal financial systems Supervision and Coordination (5%) Collaborate closely with members of the resource mobilisation team to ensure effective use of fundraising data and systems Support timely submission of proposals and reports Team Building and Collaboration (5%) Contribute to internal collaboration and team cohesion Support organisational learning and the advancement of AEF’s equity and values-based goals Qualifications and Experience The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following: Strong alignment with AEF’s mission to transform food systems and support people and planet At least 10 years of experience in the development or non-profit sector A minimum of 5 years’ experience in resource development or fundraising roles Experience working with philanthropic foundations and donors Familiarity with agroecology movements and current issues in sustainable food systems International work experience and comfort operating in multicultural environments Experience using donor management systems such as Salesforce Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with professional proficiency in French or Spanish Excellent project management, organisational, and analytical skills Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace Ability to work effectively within Eastern Standard Time (EST) Impact of the Role The Agroecology Fund’s donor community includes more than 50 donors across the United States, Europe, and Asia. While private philanthropic foundations remain the primary funding partners, AEF is expanding engagement with bilateral and multilateral donors. The Resource Development Manager will directly contribute to: Enhanced global food security and improved nutrition Increased biodiversity conservation and ecosystem health Stronger, more sustainable, and resilient global food systems Greater resourcing and visibility for grassroots agroecology movements What the Agroecology Fund Offers Time commitment: Full-time, open-ended position Status: Employee or consultant, depending on location Compensation: USD 90,000–110,000 for U.S.-based employees, or regional-equivalent salary elsewhere Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package Location: Fully remote, with availability during EST Approximate start date: Early April 2026 How to Apply Applications must be submitted by 20 February 2026 via the designated application platform.
