The AI Training & Communications Internship at World Vision International offers a unique opportunity for students and recent graduates to gain practical experience at the intersection of artificial intelligence, communication, and humanitarian development. With over 75 years of global humanitarian work, World Vision focuses on supporting vulnerable children and communities in nearly 100 countries, employing more than 33,000 staff members worldwide. This internship provides a three-month immersive learning experience designed for individuals interested in technology adoption, training design, and strategic communication within an international nonprofit environment. Interns will contribute to the organisation’s efforts to expand the use of artificial intelligence across its global workforce to enhance operational effectiveness and humanitarian impact. The internship runs from 1 June to 28 August 2026 and is conducted remotely within the United States, with both full-time and part-time options available. Internship Overview As part of the AI, Data, and Emerging Technologies team within World Vision’s global IT department, the intern will support initiatives aimed at scaling artificial intelligence adoption across the organisation. This includes developing learning resources and training programmes that help staff members effectively use AI tools in their daily work. World Vision has already deployed enterprise AI platforms such as: ChatGPT Enterprise Claude AI Microsoft Copilot Studio The internship focuses on enabling staff across the organisation to confidently utilise these tools through structured training programmes, learning materials, and strategic communication initiatives. Key Responsibilities Interns will contribute to the design, development, and delivery of AI training resources while supporting communication strategies that promote responsible AI use across the organisation. Core responsibilities include: AI Training Programme Development Design and develop training materials for AI literacy and skill development Create practical guides, quick-start resources, and user documentation for AI platforms Develop training scenarios and case studies relevant to humanitarian operations Curate existing educational resources and integrate them into training programmes Communications and Content Creation Produce internal communications explaining AI tools and best practices Create newsletters, announcements, and organisational updates related to AI adoption Translate complex technical concepts into accessible language for non-technical audiences Design visual learning materials such as infographics, tip sheets, and educational graphics Knowledge Management and Community Support Organise and maintain AI training resources and frequently asked questions Support the organisation’s AI champions network through knowledge sharing initiatives Monitor user feedback to identify training needs and information gaps Maintain AI knowledge resources within internal learning portals and intranet platforms Contribute to a repository of AI use cases from across the organisation Research and Data Analysis Conduct research on emerging AI tools and trends relevant to humanitarian organisations Analyse participation data and user feedback to measure training programme effectiveness Identify opportunities to improve AI adoption strategies across the organisation Support evaluation of pilot programmes and provide data-driven recommendations Professional Development Opportunities The internship provides hands-on exposure to AI implementation and organisational change management within a global nonprofit environment. Interns will develop practical skills while contributing to initiatives that improve humanitarian operations. Essential competencies include: Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to explain technical concepts in clear, accessible language Familiarity with generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Microsoft Copilot Interest in training, teaching, or educational content development Ability to create engaging instructional materials and learning resources Collaborative mindset when working with diverse teams in virtual environments Initiative and curiosity in identifying learning opportunities High attention to detail and quality in documentation and communication Adaptability within fast-paced and evolving technology environments Commitment to World Vision’s mission and humanitarian values Preferred Skills and Experience While not mandatory, the following experience may strengthen an application: Knowledge of learning management systems (LMS) or instructional design principles Graphic design or video production skills for training materials Data visualisation experience using tools such as Power BI Familiarity with change management frameworks Experience working in nonprofit, NGO, or humanitarian sectors Eligibility and Application Requirements Applicants must meet several eligibility requirements to participate in the internship programme. Key requirements include: Minimum age of 18 years Legal authorisation to work in the United States Possession of a valid U.S. Social Security Number Current undergraduate student or recent graduate within the last two years Ability to commit at least 24 hours per week for the entire internship period Willingness to use personal electronic devices with organisational security software Alignment with World Vision’s Christian Statement of Faith The internship is open only to applicants located within specific U.S. states where the organisation is registered as an employer.
