This work spans health and non-health sectors, creating space for cross-sector collaboration and creativity. About the Internship The Public Health Internship is designed for individuals eager to gain practical experience in global health. It is ideal for recent graduates, students completing a master’s degree in public health or a related discipline, or those transitioning into the public health field. Formal degree backgrounds are flexible; what matters most is a strong interest in public or global health and a willingness to learn. Desired Qualities in an Intern Alanda seeks individuals who are proactive, creative, and capable of taking initiative. Successful interns demonstrate clarity on goals, work independently, and respond positively to regular feedback. A strong passion for global health, poverty issues, and equity is important, along with curiosity and an eagerness to learn. Good organisational skills, efficiency, time management, and adaptability across different tasks are essential. Interns are expected to commit a minimum of 15 hours per week and take responsibility for delivering timely, high-quality work. Skills Required The internship requires strong research abilities, including competence in searching and analysing peer-reviewed and grey literature. Interns should be able to summarise large volumes of information and apply critical thinking. Knowledge of quantitative or qualitative research methods is an advantage. Excellent written communication skills in English are required, while Spanish or French is beneficial. Some familiarity with social media content creation, including writing short posts or producing simple video content, is desirable. Comfort in reaching out to organisations and stakeholders is also helpful. What the Internship Involves The internship provides a structured yet dynamic experience: Team Collaboration:The team meets every Monday for a weekly check-in, beginning with an energiser activity, followed by updates on achievements from the previous week and planning for upcoming tasks. Research and Project Work:Interns support ongoing partner organisation projects. Tasks may include desk research, contributions to evaluation reports, training development, and other technical products. Interns may also support internal initiatives, gaining exposure to a broad range of global health topics. Science Communication:Interns contribute to developing content for social media, blogs, articles, and videos aimed at educating the public on global health issues. Learning and Mentorship:Alanda places strong emphasis on growth. Interns consistently report that mentorship, accessibility, and support are among the most rewarding aspects of the programme. The internship runs remotely for four months, from 05 January to 30 April 2026, including a two-week vacation. How to Apply Applicants must prepare their responses to Alanda’s internship questionnaire in advance, as the organisation does not require a cover letter. A CV limited to two pages must also be prepared. The application form opens on 24 November 2025 at 16:00 CET and closes at 17:00 CET.
