The Amahoro Coalition Fellowship Program is a transformative leadership initiative designed to empower individuals with lived experience as Forcibly Displaced Persons (FDPs). The program focuses on equipping fellows with the skills, networks, and resources needed to drive sustainable economic inclusion and community-led impact. What Is the Amahoro Coalition Fellowship Program? The Amahoro Coalition Fellowship Program targets exceptional FDP leaders who are actively driving entrepreneurship, innovation, advocacy, or social change. The fellowship is designed to strengthen leadership capacity, support enterprise growth, and enable fellows to create scalable solutions that address refugee-related challenges. Who Can Apply for the Fellowship? Applicants must meet the following criteria: Be between 18 and 35 years old at the time of application Have lived experience as a forcibly displaced person (FDP) Own, co-own, or occupy a leadership position in a business or social impact initiative Demonstrate commitment to refugee economic inclusion through entrepreneurship, innovation, advocacy, or community-led social change Show 1–2 years of demonstrated progress, evidenced by: Business registration Revenue generation Partnerships Media features Impact reports, awards, or testimonials Demonstrate resilience, creativity, and a solution-oriented mindset Commit to the full 12-month fellowship period from August 2026 to September 2027 Dedicate 10–15 hours per week to virtual workshops and fellowship activities Be comfortable speaking and writing in English Possess basic skills in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or mobile-friendly digital tools What Are the Key Benefits of the Fellowship? Selected fellows will gain access to: Structured mentorship and professional coaching Expanded local and global networks and private-sector connections Leadership and thought leadership development Access to funding opportunities Tailored technical assistance and business development support How Does the Fellowship Support Fellows Financially? The fellowship provides: A monthly stipend to support electricity and data costs for participation Access to a competitive funding process, where fellows may secure up to USD 155,000 in blended financing to scale their initiatives How Do Applicants Apply for the Fellowship? The application process includes the following steps: Completing the online application form Uploading all required documents Submitting the application no later than 28 February 2026 Incomplete or late applications will not be considered. What Documents Are Required? Applicants must submit: A CV tailored to the fellowship Proof of enterprise or social impact initiative, such as registration documents or evidence of impact What Is the Selection Process? The fellowship selection process includes: Initial screening based on eligibility and core fellowship criteria One-on-one interviews with shortlisted candidates Review and shortlisting by the Selection Committee Final confirmation of selected fellows What Are the Expectations of Fellows? During the fellowship, participants are expected to: Actively engage in virtual workshops and learning activities Participate in mentorship and networking sessions Drive measurable impact through entrepreneurship or social change Commit to the entire duration of the fellowship Serve as ambassadors of the program, sharing experiences and learnings on social media Where Will the Fellowship Take Place? The fellowship is primarily virtual, allowing participation from multiple geographies, with occasional in-person networking opportunities where feasible. Can Employed or Studying Individuals Apply? Yes. Applicants who are employed or studying may apply, provided they can commit 10–15 hours per week to fellowship activities. What Happens After Completing the Fellowship? Upon completion, fellows join the Amahoro Alumni Network, gaining continued access to: Ongoing mentorship Networking opportunities Future funding and collaboration opportunities Past fellows are not eligible to apply for subsequent fellowship cohorts.
