Key Responsibilities During the internship, the successful candidate will support programme implementation through a variety of research, advocacy, administrative, and community engagement activities. Responsibilities include: • Assisting with the preparation of an impact report documenting Equality & Anti-Discrimination programme activities during the internship period • Supporting implementation and reporting of assigned programme activities, including initiatives under the Human Is My ID Alliance • Developing advocacy content on security accountability and anti-discrimination issues in Kenya in collaboration with the Communications team • Supporting the production of knowledge products highlighting discrimination, human rights violations, and policy reform recommendations • Providing logistical and administrative support for programme activities • Representing Amnesty Kenya in assigned partner meetings where appropriate • Acting as a liaison between community members and Amnesty Kenya under the guidance of the Programme Manager • Performing additional duties assigned by the programme team The internship provides practical exposure to rights-based advocacy and programme implementation within one of Kenya’s leading human rights organisations. Eligibility Requirements Amnesty Kenya is seeking applicants with strong academic backgrounds, analytical abilities, and a demonstrated commitment to promoting equality and human rights. Applicants should possess: • A first degree in Law, Human Rights, Social Sciences, or a related discipline • Excellent research and analytical skills • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities • Knowledge of human rights principles, particularly feminist approaches, equality, intersectionality, security accountability, and non-discrimination • Strong organisational, planning, and administrative skills • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams Although previous experience working with a human rights organisation is considered an advantage, it is not mandatory.
