Call for Applications Dr. Fola Aina Fellowship Programme – Cohort II Applications are now open for the second cohort of the Dr. Fola Aina Fellowship Programme, a prestigious leadership and mentorship initiative designed to nurture the next generation of transformational Nigerian leaders. The Fellowship is a flagship programme of the Triola Aina Foundation (TAF) and is targeted at young Nigerians who are committed to driving growth and prosperity, strengthening credible governance, and promoting peace and security across Nigeria. Through structured mentorship, immersive learning, and practical leadership exposure, the programme equips fellows with the skills, values, and networks required to lead effectively within their sectors and communities. About the Fellowship The Dr. Fola Aina Fellowship Programme is a highly selective leadership development and mentorship programme open to young Nigerians between the ages of 21 and 35 years. Exceptional candidates aged 18 to 21 may also be considered. The Fellowship combines leadership training, mentorship, peer learning, and practical engagement to support emerging leaders who demonstrate strong potential for impact in business, social development, or governance. The programme emphasizes ethical leadership, service to nation, and long-term societal impact. Fellowship Focus Areas Fellows will undergo immersive leadership development experiences and will specialize in one of three leadership tracks: Leadership in BusinessFocused on entrepreneurship, private-sector leadership, innovation, and sustainable economic growth. Leadership in Social DevelopmentCentered on community development, education, health, youth empowerment, and social impact initiatives. Leadership in GovernanceDesigned for aspiring public servants, policy advocates, and civic leaders working to strengthen institutions and democratic governance. Each track is structured to develop practical leadership competencies, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills relevant to Nigeria’s development challenges. Programme Highlights A core component of the Fellowship is participation in the Dr. Fola Aina Annual Colloquium on Youth, Leadership and Nation Building. This high-level convening brings together leaders, policymakers, professionals, and fellows for deep engagement on leadership and national development. During the Colloquium: Fellows will participate in interactive sessions, workshops, and panel discussions Selected fellows will have the opportunity to deliver talks and presentations Fellows will engage with leaders and peers from diverse sectors Beyond the Colloquium, fellows will participate in webinars, case studies, group projects, and leadership assignments designed to build both personal and professional capacity. Eligibility Criteria The Fellowship is open to applicants who meet the following criteria: Must be a Nigerian citizen Must have been resident in Nigeria for at least two years prior to application Must be between 21 and 35 years of age on or before the application deadline Exceptional applicants aged 18–21 may be considered Must be male or female Must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English Must be willing and able to commit at least three (3) hours per week to fellowship activities, including webinars, assignments, and team projects Must not be an employee or immediate family member of the Triola Aina Foundation Must not be an alumnus or alumna of the Dr. Fola Aina Fellowship Programme Benefits of the Fellowship Selected fellows will receive a comprehensive package of leadership development benefits, including: Personal mentorship sessions with Dr. Fola Aina Formal invitation to the Dr. Fola Aina Annual Colloquium Seed grant support for a business, initiative, or social impact project Invitation to an exclusive Annual Dinner with Dr. Fola Aina Opportunity to serve as Ambassadors of the Triola Aina Foundation One free laptop or tablet to support learning and productivity Branded TAF materials, including T-shirts, mugs, books, pens, and bags Optional virtual internship placement with the Triola Aina Foundation for up to six months These benefits are designed to support fellows’ growth during the programme and to provide lasting value beyond the fellowship year.
