About the FNB Graduate Programme The FNB Graduate Programme is a structured development journey that combines real-world work experience with targeted learning and professional development. Graduates are placed into permanent roles within specific business units across FNB’s retail and commercial banking segments, where they contribute meaningfully from day one. Graduate roles span a wide range of functions, including but not limited to credit analytics, product development, process and technology development, financial analysis, fraud and risk analysis, customer experience and usability, brand strategy, and financial management. This diversity ensures exposure to multiple aspects of the banking and financial services ecosystem. Graduates work full time while participating in monthly training sessions and an action learning project, forming part of a comprehensive graduate development framework aimed at accelerating technical capability, leadership potential and business understanding. Key Responsibilities Graduates on the programme are expected to actively contribute to both their teams and the broader organisation through the following responsibilities: Delivering exceptional customer service by actively listening to customer needs and designing innovative, value-driven solutions Supporting team success by completing tasks efficiently, planning effectively, maintaining accurate records and meeting deadlines Participating in organisational innovation by contributing ideas, engaging in brainstorming sessions and collaborating on creative problem-solving initiatives Building professional capability through knowledge sharing, project involvement and continuous learning aligned with industry trends Taking ownership of personal and professional growth by completing training assignments, attending workshops and proactively developing competencies aligned with FNB’s values The programme is designed to empower graduates to take initiative, think analytically and contribute to meaningful outcomes while receiving structured support and mentorship. Academic and Skills Requirements FNB is seeking graduates with strong academic performance and a clear aptitude for analytical and problem-solving work. Applicants must be currently completing their final year of study in a relevant degree programme, with a particular focus on disciplines within the BSc and Commerce faculties. Relevant fields of study include: Actuarial Science Mathematics and Statistics Engineering and Physics Information Systems and Computer Science Chemistry and Data Science UX, usability and customer experience Other closely related quantitative or analytical disciplines Applicants must demonstrate an analytical and numeric mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to apply theoretical knowledge to practical business challenges. An academic transcript is mandatory and must be included as part of the application.
