About the Fellowship The Women in AI Fellowship is a flagship program under the EDSAFE AI Alliance’s global mission to promote Safety, Accountability, Fairness, and Efficacy (SAFE) in educational AI ecosystems. The fellowship serves as a dedicated space for women to connect, learn, and lead transformative change in how AI is designed, implemented, and governed across classrooms, institutions, and policymaking arenas. Through a blend of mentorship, capacity-building, and project-based learning, participants will gain the tools and confidence to drive impactful, ethical, and inclusive AI integration that benefits all learners—especially those from historically underserved communities. Why the Fellowship Matters Artificial intelligence is rapidly reshaping how people learn, teach, and interact within education systems. Yet, representation and equity gaps persist in the development and deployment of these technologies. The Women in AI Fellowship aims to address this imbalance by fostering a diverse, cross-disciplinary network of women leaders who are ready to shape the next generation of responsible AI policies and practices. By joining the fellowship, participants become part of a global movement to ensure that AI in education is: Safe – safeguarding learners and educators from harm. Accountable – ensuring transparency and responsibility in AI decision-making. Fair – addressing bias and promoting equitable access to technology. Effective – enhancing learning outcomes through evidence-based AI solutions. What the Fellowship Offers The 2026 Women in AI Fellowship provides a comprehensive, immersive experience that includes: 1. Expert-Led Learning ModulesParticipants will engage in practical sessions covering key topics such as AI literacy, data ethics, bias mitigation, algorithmic transparency, and inclusive design. Each module connects technical understanding with real-world applications in education. 2. Mentorship from Global LeadersFellows will receive one-on-one and group mentorship from women pioneers in AI, education, research, and policy. Mentors will guide participants in refining their projects, navigating career pathways, and amplifying their leadership potential. 3. Collaborative ProjectsParticipants will co-develop innovative tools, policy recommendations, or advocacy frameworks that align with the SAFE AI principles. These projects aim to produce tangible outcomes that can be adopted by institutions, governments, and organizations worldwide. 4. Networking and Peer ExchangeThe fellowship offers access to an active, international community of practitioners and thought leaders.
