The Girls Human Rights Hub Academy has announced its 2026 Summer Work Experience Programmes, offering young people and aspiring legal professionals an opportunity to develop practical skills and explore careers in human rights, law, diplomacy, and international affairs. What is the Girls Human Rights Hub Academy? Girls Human Rights Hub is a global platform focused on advancing girls’ rights through advocacy, education, and leadership development. Through its Academy programmes, the organisation creates opportunities for young people to engage with important human rights issues, develop professional skills, and connect with individuals working across legal, political, and international development fields. The summer work experience programmes are designed especially for students interested in law, human rights, politics, international relations, and advocacy. Four Human Rights Work Experience Programmes Available in 2026 The Girls Human Rights Hub Academy will host four specialised programmes throughout the summer, each focusing on a different area of human rights practice. Global Human Rights Work Experience Programme Dates: 13–17 July 2026 This programme introduces participants to the foundations of international human rights work, including advocacy strategies, global rights frameworks, and the role of organisations working to protect fundamental freedoms. Participants will explore how human rights campaigns are developed and how young professionals can contribute to global change. Human Rights Policy Work Experience Programme Dates: 20–24 July 2026 The policy-focused programme provides insight into how research, evidence, and advocacy shape human rights policies. Participants will learn about policy development processes, explore real-world case studies, and develop skills related to analysing social issues and creating effective policy responses. Diplomacy and International Relations Work Experience Programme Dates: 27–31 July 2026 This programme focuses on diplomacy, international cooperation, and global decision-making. Participants will gain a better understanding of how governments, international organisations, and civil society groups collaborate to address global challenges. The programme will explore diplomatic approaches, negotiation skills, and careers connected to international affairs. Human Rights Litigation Work Experience Programme Dates: 3–7 August 2026 Designed for students interested in legal careers, this programme explores the role of litigation in protecting human rights. Participants will engage with legal concepts, case studies, and practical exercises that demonstrate how lawyers use legal systems to challenge rights violations and seek justice.
