Overview of the Programme The Nigeria Jubilee Fellows Programme (NJFP) is a flagship initiative of the Federal Government of Nigeria, funded by the European Union (EU) and implemented in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). It aims to strengthen the transition of young graduates into the labour market by connecting them with meaningful employment opportunities in both public and private sectors. Key features of NJFP include: Serving as a bridge between academic training and professional experience Supporting graduates in career development and workplace exposure Providing employers access to pre-vetted, motivated talent Contributing to national objectives for youth employment and human capital development By aligning graduate skills with market needs, NJFP ensures that participants are equipped to meet the challenges of Nigeria’s evolving workforce. Strategic Objectives of the NJFP NJFP is structured to achieve multiple objectives that enhance youth employability and labour market efficiency: Empower Professionals: Develop skills aligned with labour market demands using data-driven talent intelligence Enhance competitiveness in the job market Address Employer Challenges: Reduce barriers to hiring entry-level talent Support organisational capacity-building Foster Stakeholder Collaboration: Promote coordination among government, development partners, and private sector entities Strengthen a sustainable youth employment ecosystem Collectively, these objectives position NJFP as a transformative mechanism for improving labour market efficiency, strengthening youth career readiness, and advancing national development targets. Fellowship Journey The NJFP provides a clear and structured pathway for graduates from application to professional growth: 1. Application: Open to Nigerian graduates who have completed the NYSC or obtained an exemption Submission of notarised degree certificate and NYSC certificate/exemption required 2. Assessment and Selection: Computer-based aptitude test Video submission to assess communication and presentation skills Psychometric assessment to evaluate personality traits and workplace readiness 3. Onboarding: Candidates enter a pool awaiting placement Receive CV-building support and professional development guidance 4. Work Placement: Matching of candidate skills with host organisation requirements Formal recognition as Fellows once work commences 12-month paid placement with exposure to professional environments 5. Mentorship & Growth: Access to guidance from industry experts and experienced leaders Development of employability, digital, and entrepreneurial skills 6. Alumni Talent Hub: Six months of additional career guidance and job search support for Fellows not retained by host organisations Programme Highlights NJFP offers comprehensive benefits to enhance career prospects: Paid Work Placement: 12-month fully paid fellowship across Nigeria’s 36 states and FCT Monthly stipend of 150,000 NGN Mentorship Opportunities: Guidance from industry professionals Career coaching and skills development Professional Skills Training: Employability skills for workplace readiness Digital literacy and digital skills development Entrepreneurship training to foster business acumen and innovation Alumni Support: Continued career guidance through the Alumni Talent Hub Opportunities for networking and professional advancement Eligibility Criteria for Fellows Applicants must meet the following requirements: Nigerian citizen Fresh graduate (bachelor’s degree or HND) from any discipline, graduated no earlier than 2022 Bachelor’s degree with at least Second-Class Lower (2.2) or HND with Upper Credit (>3.0) Age 30 years or younger Not currently employed Completed NYSC or possess a certificate of exemption Demonstrated career commitment and interest in contributing to Nigeria’s socio-economic development Strong communication, time management, and professional skills Required documentation includes: Notarised degree certificate NYSC certificate or exemption certificate For more opportunities such as these please follow us on Facebook, Instagram , WhatsApp, Twitter, LinkedIn and Telegram Disclaimer: Global South Opportunities (GSO) is not the hiring organization.
