The Center for Clean Air Policy (CCAP) is recruiting two Climate Policy Research Assistants to support a diverse portfolio of climate policy, mitigation, circular economy and climate finance initiatives. These Research Assistant roles offer early-career professionals the chance to contribute meaningfully to climate mitigation strategies, methane reduction initiatives, and waste sector transformation. Climate Policy Research Assistant 1 Role Overview The first Research Assistant position focuses on international methane mitigation, climate finance and circular economy research. The role supports CCAP’s global projects by delivering research, data analysis, written outputs and event preparation. The researcher will work closely with policymakers, financial institutions and technical experts, gaining exposure to high-level climate policy development and implementation. Key Responsibilities The Research Assistant will support several areas of CCAP’s international portfolio, including: Research and Analysis Conducting quantitative analysis and policy research on methane mitigation and climate strategies in developing countries. Investigating climate finance mechanisms for organic waste management and emissions reduction. Producing policy briefs, reports, case studies, proposals, and blog content. Stakeholder Engagement Interacting with external consultants, government officials, financial institutions and climate specialists. Supporting international meetings through preparation of presentations, webinars and background materials. Event and Project Support Providing logistical support for conferences, including registration management and coordination with participants. Contributing to workshops and thematic reports. Project Areas The assistant may contribute to several major CCAP initiatives: Organic Waste Management in SIDS: Supporting countries in the Caribbean and Pacific to meet Global Methane Pledge commitments and implement methane-reduction projects. Methane Mitigation Policy Research: Reviewing global and domestic methane frameworks and preparing policy materials. Circular Economy: Researching waste-to-resource policies and developing best-practice regulatory recommendations for emissions-reduction opportunities. International Climate Finance: Reviewing short-lived climate pollutant mitigation strategies and analysing financial barriers in the waste sector. Blended Finance Mechanisms: Investigating financing approaches for organic waste projects in developing markets. Candidate Profile Ideal candidates hold a master’s degree in environmental policy, economics, international relations, environmental science or related fields, with 3–5 years of relevant experience. Required skills include: Strong research, writing and analytical capabilities. Quantitative skills, including cost-benefit analysis and investment modelling. Knowledge of climate policy, methane mitigation or circular economy topics. High proficiency in Microsoft Office and English. Additional languages such as Spanish, Portuguese or French are valued. This six-month role may transition to a permanent position depending on performance. Climate Policy Research Assistant 2 Role Overview The second Research Assistant position centres on climate mitigation policy, circular economy research and support for climate action initiatives in developing countries. The assistant will contribute to research, writing and event coordination while engaging with stakeholders across international policy networks. Key Responsibilities The role includes: Conducting research and quantitative analysis on climate and methane mitigation policies. Writing reports, briefs, proposals and knowledge materials. Preparing presentations and supporting international conference logistics. Engaging with policymakers and technical specialists. Project Areas Supported The Research Assistant may work across several CCAP initiatives, including: Organic waste management projects in SIDS. Reviewing methane mitigation frameworks and preparing policy materials. Circular economy research at national and local levels. Literature reviews supporting NDC 3.0 enhancement. Candidate Profile This role is ideal for recent graduates with 1–3 years of experience. Candidates should have: A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a climate-related field. Strong research and writing ability. Understanding of climate policy, methane reduction, circular economy or waste management. Organisational strength and proficiency in Microsoft Office. English fluency, with other languages as an asset. The role begins immediately and may become permanent.
