Description

The Youth Ambassador Programme, delivered in partnership with the International Baccalaureate (IB) and as part of the Festival of Hope, is a global initiative designed to support young people aged 13–19 who want to create meaningful social impact. The programme helps participants design, develop, and grow projects aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), while becoming part of a safe, supportive, and inspiring international community. The next cohort will run from 1 March to 31 May 2026, with applications open from 18 December 2025 to 13 January 2026 (23:59 GMT). What Is the Youth Ambassador Programme? The Youth Ambassador Programme supports young changemakers through a fully online learning and collaboration experience. Participants engage through: Interactive online workshops and discussions Mentorship opportunities with experienced changemakers A dedicated MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) A private Discord community for peer connection and collaboration Through these channels, Youth Ambassadors learn to turn ideas into action, reflect on global challenges, and collaborate with peers from around the world—all while working at their own pace. A core focus of the programme is creating a kind, inclusive, and safe online space, where young people feel encouraged to share ideas, learn from setbacks, and grow together. Why Become a Youth Ambassador? The programme is designed to build confidence, skills, and global awareness. As a Youth Ambassador, participants can expect to: Connect with a global network of like-minded young people Gain confidence to develop and refine their own social impact idea Learn through workshops, webinars, and events led by inspiring speakers Build resilience and adaptability when projects face challenges Develop a deeper understanding of the SDGs and real-world impact initiatives Feel inspired by positive stories of youth-led change from around the world Rather than focusing on competition, the programme emphasizes collaboration, learning, and shared purpose. The Youth Ambassador Programme is open to young people worldwide who meet the following criteria: Aged 13–19 years old during the programme period Interested in social impact, changemaking, or the SDGs Able to communicate in English (the programme’s working language) Have access to a mobile device and internet Participants do not need to be International Baccalaureate students. The programme welcomes young people from all educational backgrounds. How the Programme Works The programme is fully online and flexible, making it accessible across time zones. Key features include: No mandatory time requirement, though around 1 hour per week is recommended Live sessions offered at different times, with recordings available Ongoing engagement through Discord, the MOOC, and email updates Optional independent work for those developing their own social impact projects There is no travel involved, and the programme is completely free of charge.
