The programme is managed by the South African Agency for Science and Technology Advancement (SAASTA) under the National Research Foundation (NRF). It places eligible unemployed graduates in partner institutions for a period of 12 months, during which participants gain hands-on work experience relevant to their qualifications. In addition to practical exposure, participants receive a monthly stipend to support their basic needs throughout the placement period.
