Description

The Ford Philanthropy Fellowship 2026, powered by the Watson Institute, is a prestigious, fully funded program designed to support entrepreneurs and local leaders working to strengthen their communities. With a priority application deadline of August 15, 2026, the fellowship offers a unique opportunity for impact-driven individuals to scale their ventures, enhance leadership skills, and access a global support network. Backed by Ford Philanthropy, the program focuses on empowering individuals who are addressing critical challenges such as community development, education, and disaster preparedness. The Ford Philanthropy Fellowship: Program Overview The Ford Philanthropy Fellowship runs from September 8, 2026, to January 21, 2027. It is structured as a virtual program, making it accessible to participants across multiple countries. The fellowship begins with an immersive onboarding experience, followed by weekly workshops, mentorship sessions, and collaborative activities. Participants commit approximately 8–10 hours per week, engaging in sessions held three times a week. These sessions are designed to provide practical, hands-on learning while fostering a strong sense of community among fellows. The Ford Philanthropy Fellowship: What the Fellowship Offers The program delivers a comprehensive package of resources and support aimed at accelerating both personal and professional growth. Business and Leadership Training Fellows participate in expert-led workshops focused on entrepreneurship, financial management, and leadership development. These sessions are facilitated by experienced practitioners, including successful entrepreneurs and industry leaders. Financial Tools and Resources Participants gain access to practical tools and frameworks that help strengthen the financial sustainability of their ventures. This includes guidance on funding strategies, budgeting, and long-term financial planning. Mentorship and Global Network The fellowship connects participants with a diverse network of mentors, advisors, and peers. This ecosystem provides ongoing support, feedback, and collaboration opportunities during and after the program. Basecamp Initiative A key component of the fellowship is the “Basecamp,” where fellows design and lead a one-day workshop for early-stage entrepreneurs in their communities. This initiative is supported by training and a stipend, enabling fellows to contribute directly to local ecosystem development. Pitch Training and Virtual Summit Fellows receive specialized training to develop compelling pitches for their ventures. The program culminates in a Virtual Summit, where selected participants present their ideas to an audience of entrepreneurs, community leaders, and potential investors. The Ford Philanthropy Fellowship: Key Dates and Schedule Program Duration: September 8, 2026 – January 21, 2027 Virtual Immersive: September 8–14, 2026 Weekly Workshops: Thursday, 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM MT Virtual Summit: January 21, 2027 The structured schedule ensures consistent engagement while allowing fellows to continue managing their ventures.
