About the United States Council for International Business The United States Council for International Business represents US-based companies and professional services firms operating across different sectors and regions worldwide. USCIB works with international business organisations including Business at OECD (BIAC), the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), and the International Organisation of Employers (IOE). The organisation works to advance the US business perspective with policymakers and regulatory authorities internationally while supporting international commerce, sustainable development and multilateral cooperation. USCIB also serves as the national guaranteeing and issuing association for ATA Carnets, an international customs document used to facilitate the temporary import and export of certain goods without the payment of duties and taxes. Communications Intern Opportunity The Communications Intern will join USCIB’s communications team and work with policy experts across the organisation. The intern will contribute to communications activities covering a broad range of policy and international business issues. These may include digital policy, trade and investment, environmental and climate issues, tax policy, health, human rights and corporate responsibility. The position offers hands-on experience in producing content for different audiences and communication channels. Successful candidates will be expected to help create materials that inform, educate and engage USCIB audiences while maintaining the organisation’s communications standards. Key Responsibilities The Communications Intern will support a variety of communications and digital marketing activities. Responsibilities include developing content for USCIB’s audiences and supporting the organisation’s weekly e-newsletter. The intern will take ownership of newsletter-related tasks, including drafting and organising content, tracking materials, working within USCIB’s digital marketing platform and communicating with staff members to obtain content approvals. Other responsibilities include drafting: Press statements Event summaries Newsletter content Website content Social media content Communications pitches The intern will also design and draft concise LinkedIn posts using Canva, while following USCIB’s brand standards. Another important part of the role involves monitoring social media activity. The intern will conduct analytics and help present performance updates to communications and policy staff, providing practical exposure to digital audience engagement and campaign performance. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the communications team. Skills and Qualifications USCIB is seeking candidates with strong communications, analytical, writing, design and interpersonal skills. Applicants should have a high level of organisation and attention to detail, together with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks and manage deadlines effectively. The role requires candidates who can work collaboratively as part of a team while also being capable of working independently. Experience in digital marketing or social media marketing is relevant, as is experience managing social media platforms and developing engaging social media content. Applicants should have proficiency in LinkedIn and Canva. Experience with WordPress is preferred, although USCIB notes that training can be provided. Familiarity with digital marketing platforms such as Brevo is an additional advantage. Knowledge or interest in public policy and international relations is also considered a plus.
