International Summer School for Policing Scholars (ISSPS) at the University of Stirling, Scotland Dates: Monday 22 – Friday 26 June 2026Location: University of Stirling, ScotlandApplications Open: 11 February 2026Application Deadline: 6 March 2026 Overview The Scottish Institute for Policing Research (SIPR) is offering funding for PhD researchers based at SIPR member universities to participate in the International Summer School for Policing Scholars (ISSPS). The summer school will be hosted at the University of Stirling from 22–26 June 2026. Funding covers one week’s accommodation in the University’s halls of residence and partial subsistence for meals. Applicants must be certain they can attend, as a strict cancellation policy requires institutions to refund grants if participants cannot join. About the ISSPS The ISSPS is a collaborative initiative led by: Centre for Evidence-Based Crime Policy (CEBCP) at George Mason University Scottish Institute for Policing Research (SIPR) Griffith University, Australia Australian and New Zealand Society of Evidence-Based Policing (ANZSEBP) The summer school primarily targets PhD researchers, including: Those with confirmed doctoral funding Individuals with secured PhD program places Candidates pursuing professional doctorates with substantive policing research Curriculum The ISSPS program emphasizes field- and practice-oriented policing research. Topics include: Research design in policing (quantitative and qualitative approaches) Researching with, for, and by practitioners Theoretical frameworks in policing research Programme evaluation frameworks Research translation and knowledge transfer Participants are encouraged to engage actively with faculty and peers to enhance practical and academic knowledge.
