Apply Now: Geneva Youth Travel Grant 2026 for Global Framework on Chemicals (Fully Funded to Switzerland) Young people from around the world can now apply for travel support to attend the First International Conference of the Global Framework on Chemicals (GFC IC-1), taking place in Geneva, Switzerland, in November 2026. Coordinated by the Chemicals and Waste Youth Platform (CWYP), this opportunity empowers young leaders to participate directly in international discussions on chemicals and waste management, environmental policy, and sustainable development. Quick Details Summary Conference: First International Conference of the Global Framework on Chemicals (GFC IC-1) Location: Geneva, Switzerland Global Youth Forum: 14–16 November 2026 Conference Dates: 16–20 November 2026 Travel Period: 13–20 November 2026 Eligibility: Youth aged 35 or younger UN Experience: Not required Fully Funded Application Deadline: 29 September 2026 at 17:00 UTC Non-Funded Support Deadline: 13 October 2026 at 17:00 UTC Who Can Apply? The opportunity is open globally to children and young people aged 35 or younger who are passionate about chemicals and waste management, environmental sustainability, public health, innovation, policy, or youth participation in decision-making. Eligibility Categories: Fully-Funded Travel Grant: Young people from Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs) Indigenous youth from any region Partially-Funded Travel Grant: Open to eligible young people from any country or region Non-Funded Registration Support: Open globally for participants who can fund their own travel and accommodation. Note: Applicants must be available to travel and participate in Geneva for the full programme from 13 to 20 November 2026. Funding Coverage 1. Fully-Funded Travel Grant Covers: Roundtrip international airfare Accommodation with breakfast Meal reimbursement Local transportation reimbursement Visa fee reimbursement 2. Partially-Funded Support Covers: Regional travel support (low-cost airfare or train) up to CHF 150 roundtrip Accommodation with breakfast 3. Non-Funded Registration Support Covers: Conference registration assistance and official UN accreditation letter (Participants are responsible for their own travel, lodging, and living expenses) What Will Delegates Do in Geneva? Selected youth delegates will participate in an intensive, high-impact programme where they can: Deliver spoken and written interventions during official negotiations. Engage with country delegations, experts, and international stakeholders. Attend the 3-day 4th Global Youth Forum on Chemicals and Waste. Contribute to youth-led policy recommendations and sustainable initiatives. About the Global Framework on Chemicals (GFC) Adopted in September 2023, the Global Framework on Chemicals – For a Planet Free of Harm from Chemicals and Waste establishes strategic targets to protect human health and the environment. The GFC IC-1 conference serves as a key global milestone for governments, civil society, and youth to collaborate on multi-sectoral actions.
