What Interns Will Do As a WBG Pioneer, you will: Actively contribute to ongoing World Bank Group projects and analytical work Support research, data analysis, reporting, and operational tasks relevant to your assigned team Collaborate with colleagues across technical, operational, and corporate units Develop professional skills in communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and project support Gain a deeper understanding of how the World Bank Group supports countries to achieve sustainable development goals This experience is designed to strengthen your professional profile and prepare you for future careers in development, policy, finance, research, or related fields. Compensation and Working Conditions Paid internship: Interns receive an hourly salary Accommodation: Interns are responsible for arranging and financing their own accommodation Work locations: Opportunities are driven by business needs and may be based at World Bank Group headquarters in Washington, D.C., or in WBG country offices Start dates: Interns may begin at any point between April and September 2026 Eligibility Criteria To be eligible for the WBG Pioneers Internship Program, applicants must meet the following requirements: Academic Status Undergraduate Track: Final-year bachelor’s degree student Postgraduate Track: Currently enrolled in a master’s degree or Ph.D. program Professional Experience Applicants may have 0–6 years of professional experience Skills and Background Strong academic performance and interest in development-related fields Strong computing and technical skills are an advantage Ability to work in a multicultural and professional environment The World Bank Group values diversity and encourages applications from candidates of all backgrounds.
