Asda is seeking a Sustainability Manager to join its Head Office team in Leeds. The role focuses on leading the company’s sustainable sourcing strategy across both food and non-food product categories. Key Responsibilities The Sustainability Manager will: Drive Asda’s sustainable sourcing strategy, engaging with suppliers, colleagues, and NGOs to track market developments, standards, and regulations while positioning Asda proactively on key issues. Develop and implement sourcing policies and projects aligned with Asda’s ESG commitments. Collaborate closely with suppliers, commercial, and technical teams to embed understanding and adherence to sustainability standards. Manage multi-stakeholder compliance projects, particularly those related to evolving regulations such as forest-risk commodities. Represent Asda externally in discussions with suppliers, retailers, government bodies, and NGOs. Conduct reporting and KPI tracking across suppliers to support external disclosure on key sourcing metrics. Provide specialist technical advice and guidance on environmental and sustainability issues. Candidate Profile Ideal candidates will have experience within retail or FMCG sectors, particularly in sustainability, technical, or commercial roles. They must demonstrate strong project management skills and the ability to communicate complex issues clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
