About the Head of Partnerships Role Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Head of Partnerships will lead ATNi’s partnership strategy and serve as a member of the organisation’s Extended Management Team. The successful candidate will develop high-impact collaborations across multiple sectors while representing ATNi in international forums, conferences, and strategic policy discussions. The role focuses primarily on partnerships in: Research Policy Food business and innovation The postholder will also collaborate closely with colleagues working on investment and funding partnerships. Key Responsibilities The Head of Partnerships will provide strategic leadership across partnership development and organisational collaboration. Partnership Strategy Responsibilities include: Developing and implementing ATNi’s global partnership strategy Building relationships with governments, NGOs, international organisations, investors, and private sector partners Identifying new collaboration opportunities across Europe, Africa, and Asia Monitoring partnership effectiveness and organisational impact Representing ATNi at high-level meetings, conferences, and industry events Team Leadership The successful candidate will: Lead and mentor the Partnerships team Allocate resources across projects and priorities Foster an inclusive and collaborative organisational culture Strengthen partnership practices throughout the organisation Cross-Functional Collaboration The role requires close collaboration with ATNi’s research, policy, communications, monitoring and evaluation, and business development teams to ensure partnerships contribute directly to strategic objectives and programme delivery. Resource Mobilisation Additional responsibilities include: Supporting donor engagement Contributing to grant proposals and fundraising initiatives Building relationships with existing and prospective funding partners Supporting reporting and compliance requirements for funded projects Who Should Apply? ATNi is seeking an experienced international development professional with strong leadership and stakeholder engagement expertise. Essential Qualifications Applicants should have: A Master’s degree in International Development, Public Policy, Public Health, Nutrition, International Relations, Business Administration, or a related field At least 12 years of relevant professional experience Proven experience building complex partnerships across multiple sectors Experience leading teams in multicultural environments Strong stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and strategic communication skills Highly Desirable Experience Candidates with the following will be particularly competitive: Experience working in food systems, nutrition, or public health Fundraising and donor engagement expertise Project and budget management experience Partnership development in East Africa or Europe International field experience across Africa and Asia Location and Working Arrangements This position is open only to candidates already based in one of the following locations: Utrecht, Netherlands Brussels, Belgium Nairobi, Kenya Dar es Salaam, Tanzania Relocation support is not available. For candidates already residing in the Netherlands, Highly Skilled Migrant (HSM) visa sponsorship may be possible. The role is full-time (32–40 hours per week) with approximately 20% international travel. Salary and Benefits For Netherlands-based employees, the package includes: €5,000–€6,600 gross monthly salary (full-time) Flexible hybrid working arrangements 26 days annual leave plus public holidays Pension contribution Monthly health insurance allowance Annual learning and development budget Initial one-year contract with the intention to extend based on performance Compensation for successful candidates based outside the Netherlands will be adjusted according to local labour and cost-of-living considerations.
