Role Overview The Program Manager position is based within the Australian Mission to ASEAN and supports Australia’s engagement with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations. The role contributes to program management and policy development within the human and political security portfolios of the Mission. The position requires a professional who can manage complex aid and development initiatives, engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, and deliver high-quality outputs under limited supervision. Key Responsibilities The Program Manager is responsible for supporting the effective delivery and oversight of Australia’s aid and development programs within the ASEAN context. Core responsibilities include: Assisting with the management of the Mission’s aid program portfolio Providing program management and policy development support across human and political security initiatives Supporting relationships with key stakeholders, including implementing partners and government counterparts Coordinating with Australian diplomatic posts across Southeast Asia Contributing to planning, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of development activities Managing competing priorities and making informed decisions on complex tasks with minimal guidance The role demands strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to navigate sensitive policy and development contexts.
