The organization seeks seasoned consultants who can support the design, delivery, and evaluation of training initiatives across Africa. Key Areas of Expertise AWARD is particularly interested in consultants with expertise in: Gender equity in agrifood systems Gender-responsive agricultural policy Gender and climate science Social inclusion and equity Innovation and technology in agriculture Leadership and management development Negotiation and executive coaching Mentorship and professional development Curriculum design (virtual and in-person learning) This diverse range of focus areas reflects the complexity of modern agricultural systems and the need for multidisciplinary approaches. Roles and Responsibilities Training consultants will play a central role in delivering high-quality learning experiences. Responsibilities include: Conducting training needs assessments Designing course content and learning objectives Developing engaging, interactive training materials Facilitating and co-facilitating training sessions Participating in debrief and evaluation processes Preparing detailed training reports Assignments will be offered periodically, depending on program needs and the consultant’s expertise. Required Qualifications and Experience To qualify, applicants must demonstrate strong academic and professional credentials, including: An advanced university degree in fields such as education, agricultural sciences, social sciences, or related disciplines At least 10 years of experience in designing and delivering capacity development programs Expertise in adult learning principles and curriculum design Strong facilitation, communication, and presentation skills Familiarity with Africa’s AR4D landscape Experience working with diverse, multicultural teams Additional advantages include certifications in leadership tools (e.g., MBTI, Emotional Intelligence frameworks), as well as experience in inclusive or special needs education. Proficiency in English and/or French is required.
