AWDF Expands Its Team with New Programme Assistant Opportunity As one of Africa’s leading feminist grant-making foundations, the African Women’s Development Fund continues to strengthen its mission of supporting women’s rights organisations and gender justice initiatives across the continent. The newly announced Programme Assistant – Resourcing (Bilingual) role will run from July 2026 to June 2027 and will support the organisation’s resourcing and grant-making operations. According to AWDF, the selected candidate will work closely with programme teams and provide administrative and programmatic support to ensure the efficient implementation of grant-making activities and partner engagement processes. Key Responsibilities of the Programme Assistant – Resourcing Role The successful candidate will contribute to several strategic and operational areas within the organisation, including: Supporting grant-making and resourcing processes Assisting with programme administration and implementation Supporting monitoring, evaluation, and learning systems Coordinating budgeting and financial support activities Gathering programme data and reporting information Supporting project conceptualisation and stakeholder reporting Ensuring compliance with grant-making guidelines and procedures The role will involve close collaboration with Programme Managers, Senior Programme Officers, and other members of the Resourcing Unit. Ideal Candidate Profile AWDF is seeking applicants who demonstrate: Experience in administrative and programmatic support Knowledge of monitoring, evaluation, and learning processes Strong organisational and reporting skills Ability to support grant-making operations efficiently Experience working in development, nonprofit, or feminist organisations Bilingual communication abilities The organisation particularly encourages qualified African women and gender-diverse individuals to apply, in line with its commitment to inclusion and feminist leadership.
