Strategic Importance of the Senior Manager, Social Standards Role The Senior Manager, Social Standards position is designed for experienced professionals specializing in social sustainability, human rights, labor standards, justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI), and responsible supply chain management. The selected candidate will help evolve B Lab’s standards infrastructure while supporting businesses seeking to improve their social performance and long-term sustainability impact. Key focus areas include: Human rights and ethical business practices Fair work and labor standards Diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice frameworks Corporate sustainability governance Global social impact performance management The role is part of B Lab’s broader strategy to ensure that businesses operate responsibly while contributing to systemic economic transformation. Core Responsibilities of the Position The Senior Manager will lead and collaborate on several high-impact initiatives within the organization. Standards Development and Governance Responsibilities include: Researching and updating B Lab’s social impact standards Revising certification frameworks and sustainability requirements Developing implementation guides and educational resources Supporting governance discussions with the Standards Advisory Council Ensuring alignment with international sustainability frameworks The position also requires collaboration with global stakeholders to improve the effectiveness and accessibility of B Lab’s standards. Stakeholder Engagement and Partnerships The role demands active engagement with: Sustainability organizations Industry leaders Regulatory bodies Impact management experts Internal and external advisory groups The successful candidate will facilitate cross-functional collaboration while helping B Lab strengthen its influence within the global sustainability ecosystem. Qualifications and Professional Experience Required B Lab is seeking professionals with substantial experience in sustainability and social impact management.
